GNTA 13 "Zebulun will live beside the sea. His shore will be a haven for ships. His territory will reach as far as Sidon. NIV 13 “Zebulun will live by the seashore and become a haven for ships; his border will extend toward Sidon. GNTA 14 "Issachar is no better than a donkey That lies stretched out between its saddlebags. NIV 14 “Issachar is a rawboned donkey lying down among the sheep pens. GNTA 15 But he sees that the resting place is good And that the land is delightful. So he bends his back to carry the load And is forced to work as a slave. NIV 15 When he sees how good is his resting place and how pleasant is his land, he will bend his shoulder to the burden and submit to forced labor. GNTA 16 "Dan will be a ruler for his people. They will be like the other tribes of Israel. NIV 16 “Dan will provide justice for his people as one of the tribes of Israel. GNTA 17 Dan will be a snake at the side of the road, A poisonous snake beside the path, That strikes at the horse's heel, So that the rider is thrown off backward. NIV 17 Dan will be a snake by the roadside, a viper along the path, that bites the horse’s heels so that its rider tumbles backward. GNTA 18 "I wait for your deliverance, Lord. NIV 18 “I look for your deliverance, LORD. GNTA 19 "Gad will be attacked by a band of robbers, But he will turn and pursue them. NIV 19 “Gad will be attacked by a band of raiders, but he will attack them at their heels. GNTA 20 "Asher's land will produce rich food. He will provide food fit for a king. NIV 20 “Asher’s food will be rich; he will provide delicacies fit for a king. GNTA 21 "Naphtali is a deer that runs free, Who bears lovely fawns. NIV 21 “Naphtali is a doe set free that bears beautiful fawns. GNTA 22 "Joseph is like a wild donkey by a spring, A wild colt on a hillside. NIV 22 “Joseph is a fruitful vine, a fruitful vine near a spring, whose branches climb over a wall. GNTA 23 His enemies attack him fiercely And pursue him with their bows and arrows. NIV 23 With bitterness archers attacked him; they shot at him with hostility.
