TMBA 12 When thou tillest the ground, it shall not henceforth yield unto thee her strength. A fugitive and a vagabond shalt thou be on the earth." NIV 12 When you work the ground, it will no longer yield its crops for you. You will be a restless wanderer on the earth.” TMBA 13 And Cain said unto the LORD, "My punishment is greater than I can bear. NIV 13 Cain said to the LORD, “My punishment is more than I can bear. TMBA 14 Behold, Thou hast driven me out this day from the face of the earth, and from Thy face shall I be hid; and I shall be a fugitive and a vagabond on the earth. And it shall come to pass that every one who findeth me shall slay me." NIV 14 Today you are driving me from the land, and I will be hidden from your presence; I will be a restless wanderer on the earth, and whoever finds me will kill me.” TMBA 15 And the LORD said unto him, "Therefore whosoever slayeth Cain, vengeance shall be taken on him sevenfold." And the LORD set a mark upon Cain, lest any finding him should kill him. NIV 15 But the LORD said to him, “Not so ; anyone who kills Cain will suffer vengeance seven times over.” Then the LORD put a mark on Cain so that no one who found him would kill him. TMBA 16 And Cain went out from the presence of the LORD, and dwelt in the land of Nod to the east of Eden. NIV 16 So Cain went out from the LORD’s presence and lived in the land of Nod, east of Eden. TMBA 18 And unto Enoch was born Irad; and Irad begot Mehujael, and Mehujael begot Methushael, and Methushael begot Lamech. NIV 18 To Enoch was born Irad, and Irad was the father of Mehujael, and Mehujael was the father of Methushael, and Methushael was the father of Lamech. TMBA 19 And Lamech took unto him two wives: the name of the one was Adah, and the name of the other Zillah. NIV 19 Lamech married two women, one named Adah and the other Zillah. TMBA 20 And Adah bore Jabal; he was the father of those who dwell in tents, and of those who have cattle. NIV 20 Adah gave birth to Jabal; he was the father of those who live in tents and raise livestock. TMBA 21 And his brother's name was Jubal; he was the father of all those who handle the harp and organ. NIV 21 His brother’s name was Jubal; he was the father of all who play stringed instruments and pipes. TMBA 22 And Zillah, she also bore Tubalcain, an instructor of every artificer in brass and iron; and the sister of Tubalcain was Naamah. NIV 22 Zillah also had a son, Tubal-Cain, who forged all kinds of tools out of bronze and iron. Tubal-Cain’s sister was Naamah.
