40 En als zij de ankers opgehaald hadden, gaven zij het schip aan de zee over, meteen de roerbanden losmakende; en het razeil naar den wind opgehaald hebbende, hielden zij het naar den oever toe.
40 Cutting loose the anchors, they left them in the sea and at the same time untied the ropes that held the rudders. Then they hoisted the foresail to the wind and made for the beach.
