Hebrews 9:24-28

CEB 24 Christ didn't enter the holy place (which is a copy of the true holy place) made by human hands, but into heaven itself, so that he now appears in God's presence for us. NRS 24 For Christ did not enter a sanctuary made by human hands, a mere copy of the true one, but he entered into heaven itself, now to appear in the presence of God on our behalf. CEB 25 He didn't enter to offer himself over and over again, like the high priest enters the earthly holy place every year with blood that isn't his. NRS 25 Nor was it to offer himself again and again, as the high priest enters the Holy Place year after year with blood that is not his own; CEB 26 If that were so, then Jesus would have to suffer many times since the foundation of the world. Instead, he has now appeared once at the end of the ages to get rid of sin by sacrificing himself. NRS 26 for then he would have had to suffer again and again since the foundation of the world. But as it is, he has appeared once for all at the end of the age to remove sin by the sacrifice of himself. CEB 27 People are destined to die once and then face judgment. NRS 27 And just as it is appointed for mortals to die once, and after that the judgment, CEB 28 In the same way, Christ was also offered once to take on himself the sins of many people. He will appear a second time, not to take away sin but to save those who are eagerly waiting for him. NRS 28 so Christ, having been offered once to bear the sins of many, will appear a second time, not to deal with sin, but to save those who are eagerly waiting for him.
