A prophecy against the Desert by the Sea: Like whirlwinds sweeping through the southland, an invader comes from the desert, from a land of terror.
2 Líng rén qī cǎn de yìxiàng , yǐ mò shì yú wǒ . guǐzhà de xíng guǐzhà , huǐmiè de xíng huǐmiè . Yǐlán nǎ , nǐ yào shang qù . Mǎdaì a , nǐ yào wéi kùn . zhǔ shuō , wǒ shǐ yīqiè tànxī zhǐ zhù .

A dire vision has been shown to me: The traitor betrays, the looter takes loot. Elam, attack! Media, lay siege! I will bring to an end all the groaning she caused.
3 Suǒyǐ wǒ mǎn yào téngtòng . tòngkǔ jiāng wǒ zhuāzhù , hǎoxiàng chǎn nán de fùrén yíyàng . wǒ téngtòng shènzhì bùnéng tīng . wǒ jīng huáng shènzhì bùnéng kàn .

At this my body is racked with pain, pangs seize me, like those of a woman in labor; I am staggered by what I hear, I am bewildered by what I see.
4 Wǒ xīn huāng zhāng , jīngkǒng wēi xià wǒ , wǒ suǒ xiànmù de huánghūn , biàn wèi wǒde zhàn jīng .

My heart falters, fear makes me tremble; the twilight I longed for has become a horror to me.
5 Tāmen bǎishè yánxí , paì rén shǒu wàng , yòu chī yòu hē . shǒulǐng a , nǐmen qǐlai , yòng yóu mǒ dùnpái .

They set the tables, they spread the rugs, they eat, they drink! Get up, you officers, oil the shields!
6 Zhǔ duì wǒ rúcǐ shuō , nǐ qù shèlì shǒu wàng de , shǐ tā jiāng suǒ kànjian de shùshuō .

This is what the Lord says to me: “Go, post a lookout and have him report what he sees.
7 Tā kànjian jūnduì , jiù shì qí mǎ de yī duì yī duì de lái , yòu kànjian lü duì , luòtuo duì , jiù yàozhāi ĕr xì tīng .

When he sees chariots with teams of horses, riders on donkeys or riders on camels, let him be alert, fully alert.”
8 Tā xiàng shīzi hǒu jiào , shuō , Zhǔ a , wǒ bái rì cháng zhàn zaì wàng lóu shang , zhĕngyè lì zaì wǒ shǒu wàng suǒ .

And the lookout shouted, “Day after day, my lord, I stand on the watchtower; every night I stay at my post.

Look, here comes a man in a chariot with a team of horses. And he gives back the answer: ‘Babylon has fallen, has fallen! All the images of its gods lie shattered on the ground!’ ”
10 Wǒ beì dǎ de hé jià , wǒ chǎng shang de yù a , wǒ cóng wàn jūn zhī Yēhéhuá Yǐsèliè de shén nàli suǒ tīngjian de , dōu gàosu nǐmen le .

My people who are crushed on the threshing floor, I tell you what I have heard from the LORD Almighty, from the God of Israel.

A prophecy against Dumah : Someone calls to me from Seir, “Watchman, what is left of the night? Watchman, what is left of the night?”
12 Shǒu wàng de shuō , zǎochen jiāng dào , hēi yè yĕ lái . nǐmen ruò yào wèn , jiù kĕyǐ wèn , kĕyǐ huí tóu zaì lái .

The watchman replies, “Morning is coming, but also the night. If you would ask, then ask; and come back yet again.”
13 Lún yà lā bǎi de mò shì . Dǐdàn jié bàn de kèlǚ a , nǐmen bì zaì Yàlá bǎi de shùlín zhōng zhù xiǔ .

A prophecy against Arabia: You caravans of Dedanites, who camp in the thickets of Arabia,
14 Tímǎ dì de jūmín ná shuǐ lái , sòng gĕi kǒu kĕ de , ná bǐng lái yíngjiē taóbì de .

bring water for the thirsty; you who live in Tema, bring food for the fugitives.
15 Yīnwei tāmen taóbì dāo jiàn , hé chū le qiào de dāo , bìng shang le xián de gōng , yǔ dāobīng de zhòng zāi .

They flee from the sword, from the drawn sword, from the bent bow and from the heat of battle.
16 Zhǔ duì wǒ zhèyàng shuō , yī nián zhī neì , zhào gùgōng de nián shǔ , jī dá de yīqiè róngyào bì guīyú wú yǒu .

This is what the Lord says to me: “Within one year, as a servant bound by contract would count it, all the splendor of Kedar will come to an end.
17 Gōngjiànshǒu suǒ yú shèng de , jiù shì jī dá rén de yǒng shì , bìrán xīshǎo . yīnwei zhè shì Yēhéhuá Yǐsèliè de shén shuō de .

The survivors of the archers, the warriors of Kedar, will be few.” The LORD, the God of Israel, has spoken.
