1 Huò zāi , Yǐfǎlián de jiǔ tú , zhù zaì féimĕi yù de shān shang , tāmen xīnli gāo ào , yǐ suǒ kuā de wèi guānmiǎn , yóu rú jiāngcán zhī huā .

Woe to that wreath, the pride of Ephraim’s drunkards, to the fading flower, his glorious beauty, set on the head of a fertile valley— to that city, the pride of those laid low by wine!
2 Kàn nǎ , zhǔ yǒu yī dà néng dàlì zhĕ , xiàng yī zhèn bīngbaó , xiàng huǐmiè de bàofēng , xiàng zhǎng yì de dà shuǐ , tā bì yòng shǒu jiāng guānmiǎn shuāi luō yú dì .

See, the Lord has one who is powerful and strong. Like a hailstorm and a destructive wind, like a driving rain and a flooding downpour, he will throw it forcefully to the ground.
3 Yǐfǎlián gāo ào de jiǔ tú , tāde guānmiǎn , bì beì tā zaì jiǎo xià .

That wreath, the pride of Ephraim’s drunkards, will be trampled underfoot.
4 Nà róng mĕi jiāngcán zhī huā , jiù shì zaì féimĕi yù shān shang de , bì xiàng xià líng yǐqián chū shú de wúhuāguǒ . kànjian zhè guǒ de jiù zhùyì , yī dào shǒu zhōng jiù tūn chī le .

That fading flower, his glorious beauty, set on the head of a fertile valley, will be like figs ripe before harvest— as soon as people see them and take them in hand, they swallow them.
5 Dào nà rì , wàn jūn zhī Yēhéhuá bì zuò tā yú shèng zhī mín de róng guān huá miǎn .

In that day the LORD Almighty will be a glorious crown, a beautiful wreath for the remnant of his people.
6 Yĕ zuò le zaì wèi shang xíng shĕnpàn zhĕ gōngping zhī líng , bìng chéng ménkǒu dǎ tuì chóudí zhĕ de lìliang .

He will be a spirit of justice to the one who sits in judgment, a source of strength to those who turn back the battle at the gate.
7 Jiù shì zhè dì de rén , yīn jiǔ yáo yáo huǎng huàng , yīn nóng jiǔ dōng dào xī wāi . jìsī hé xiānzhī yīn nóng jiǔ yáo yáo huǎng huàng , beì jiǔ suǒ kùn , yīn nóng jiǔ dōng dǎo xī wāi . tāmen cuò jiĕ mò shì , miù xíng shĕnpàn .

And these also stagger from wine and reel from beer: Priests and prophets stagger from beer and are befuddled with wine; they reel from beer, they stagger when seeing visions, they stumble when rendering decisions.
8 Yīnwei ge xí shang mǎn le ǒu tù de wūhuì , wú yī chù gānjing .

All the tables are covered with vomit and there is not a spot without filth.
9 Jīqiào xiānzhī de shuō , tā yào jiāng zhīshi zhǐjiào shuí ne , yào shǐ shuí míngbai zhuàn yán ne . shì nà gāng duàn nǎi lí huái de ma .

“Who is it he is trying to teach? To whom is he explaining his message? To children weaned from their milk, to those just taken from the breast?
10 Tā jìng méng shang jiā méng , líng shang jiā líng , lǜ shang jiā lǜ , lì shang jiā lì , zhèlǐ yídiǎn , nàli yídiǎn .

For it is: Do this, do that, a rule for this, a rule for that ; a little here, a little there.”
11 Xiānzhī shuō , bù rán , zhǔ yào jiè yì bāng rén de zuǐchún , hé waìbāngrén de shétou , duì zhè bǎixìng shuōhuà .

Very well then, with foreign lips and strange tongues God will speak to this people,
12 Tā céng duì tāmen shuō , nǐmen yào shǐ pí fá rén dé ānxī . zhèyàng cái dé ānxī , cái dé shūchàng . tāmen què bù kĕn tīng .

to whom he said, “This is the resting place, let the weary rest”; and, “This is the place of repose”— but they would not listen.
13 Suǒyǐ Yēhéhuá xiàng tāmen shuō de huà , shì méng shang jiā méng , líng shang jiā líng , lǜ shang jiā lǜ , lì shang jiā lì , zhèlǐ yídiǎn , nàli yídiǎn , yǐzhì tāmen qián xíng yǎng miàn diēdǎo , érqiĕ diē suì , bìng xiàn rù wǎngluó , beì chán zhù .

So then, the word of the LORD to them will become: Do this, do that, a rule for this, a rule for that; a little here, a little there— so that as they go they will fall backward; they will be injured and snared and captured.
14 Suǒyǐ nǐmen zhèxie xiè màn de rén , jiù shì xiá guǎn zhù zaì Yēlùsǎlĕng zhè bǎixìng de , yào tīng Yēhéhuá de huà .

Therefore hear the word of the LORD, you scoffers who rule this people in Jerusalem.
15 Nǐmen céng shuō , wǒmen yǔ sǐwáng lì yuē , yǔ yīnjiān jié méng . dí jūn ( yuánwén zuò biān zǐ ) rú shuǐ zhǎng màn jīngguò de shíhou , bì bù líndào wǒmen . yīn wǒmen yǐ huǎng yán wèi bì suǒ , zaì xūjiǎ yǐxià cáng shēn .

You boast, “We have entered into a covenant with death, with the realm of the dead we have made an agreement. When an overwhelming scourge sweeps by, it cannot touch us, for we have made a lie our refuge and falsehood our hiding place.”
16 Suǒyǐ zhǔ Yēhéhuá rúcǐ shuō , kàn nǎ , wǒ zaì Xī \'ān fàng yī kuaì shítou , zuòwéi gēnjī , shì shìyàn guo de shítou , shì wĕngù gēnjī , bǎoguì de fáng jiǎo shí , xìn kào de rén bì bù zhaójí .

So this is what the Sovereign LORD says: “See, I lay a stone in Zion, a tested stone, a precious cornerstone for a sure foundation; the one who relies on it will never be stricken with panic.
17 Wǒ bì yǐ gōngping wèi zhún shéng , yǐ gōngyì wèi xiàn tuó . bīngbaó bì chōng qù huǎng yán de bì suǒ , dà shuǐ bì màn guo cáng shēn zhī chù .

I will make justice the measuring line and righteousness the plumb line; hail will sweep away your refuge, the lie, and water will overflow your hiding place.
18 Nǐmen yǔ sǐwáng suǒ lì de yuē , bìrán feìdiào , yǔ yīnjiān suǒ jié de méng , bì lì bù zhù . dí jūn ( yuánwén zuò biān zǐ ) rú shuǐ zhǎng màn jīngguò de shíhou , nǐmen bì beì tā jiàntà .

Your covenant with death will be annulled; your agreement with the realm of the dead will not stand. When the overwhelming scourge sweeps by, you will be beaten down by it.
19 Mĕi fùng jīngguò bìjiāng nǐmen lǔ qù . yīnwei mĕi zǎochen tā bì jīngguò , báizhòu hēi yè dōu bì rúcǐ . míngbai zhuàn yán de , bì shòu jīngkǒng .

As often as it comes it will carry you away; morning after morning, by day and by night, it will sweep through.” The understanding of this message will bring sheer terror.
20 Yuánlái chuáng tà duǎn , shǐ rén bùnéng shū shēn . beì wō zhǎi , shǐ rén bùnéng zhē tǐ .

The bed is too short to stretch out on, the blanket too narrow to wrap around you.
21 Yēhéhuá bì xīngqǐ , xiàng zaì pí lá xīn shān , tā bì fānù , xiàng zaì Jībiàn yù , hǎo zuò chéng tāde gōng , jiù shìfēi cháng de gōng , chéngjiù tāde shì , jiù shì qí yì de shì .

The LORD will rise up as he did at Mount Perazim, he will rouse himself as in the Valley of Gibeon— to do his work, his strange work, and perform his task, his alien task.
22 Xiànzaì nǐmen bùkĕ xiè màn , kǒngpà kún nǐmen de bǎng suǒ gèng jié shí le . yīnwei wǒ cóng zhǔ wàn jūn zhī Yēhéhuá nàli tīngjian yǐjing juédéng , zaì quán dì shang shīxíng mièjué de shì .

Now stop your mocking, or your chains will become heavier; the Lord, the LORD Almighty, has told me of the destruction decreed against the whole land.
23 Nǐmen dāng zhāi ĕr tīng wǒde shēngyīn , liú xīn tīng wǒde yányǔ .

Listen and hear my voice; pay attention and hear what I say.
24 Nà gēngdì wéi yào sǎzhǒng de , qǐ shì chángcháng gēngdì ne , qǐ shì chángcháng kāi kĕn pá dì ne .

When a farmer plows for planting, does he plow continually? Does he keep on breaking up and working the soil?
25 Tālā píng le dì miàn , qǐbù jiù sǎzhǒng xiǎo huíxiāng , bō zhòng dà huíxiāng , àn xíng liè zhǒng xiǎomaì , zaì déng chù zhǒng dàmaì , zaì tián bian zhòng cū maì ne .

When he has leveled the surface, does he not sow caraway and scatter cumin? Does he not plant wheat in its place,barley in its plot,and spelt in its field?
26 Yīnwei tāde shén jiàodǎo tā wù nóng xiāngyí , bìngqiĕ zhǐjiào tā .

His God instructs him and teaches him the right way.
27 Yuánlái dǎ xiǎo huíxiāng , búyòng jiān lì de qìjù , zhá dà huíxiāng , yĕ búyòng lù zhóu . ( yuánwén zuò chēlún xià tóng ) dàn yòng zhàng dǎ xiǎo huíxiāng , yòng gùn dǎ dà huíxiāng .

Caraway is not threshed with a sledge, nor is the wheel of a cart rolled over cumin; caraway is beaten out with a rod, and cumin with a stick.
28 Zuò bǐng de liángshi shì yòng mó mó suì , yīn tā bù bì cháng dǎ . suī yòng lù zhóu hé mǎ dǎ sǎn , què bù mó tā .

Grain must be ground to make bread; so one does not go on threshing it forever. The wheels of a threshing cart may be rolled over it, but one does not use horses to grind grain.
29 Zhè yĕ shì chūyú wàn jūn zhī Yēhéhuá . tāde móu lüè qímiào , tāde zhìhuì guǎngdà .

All this also comes from the LORD Almighty, whose plan is wonderful, whose wisdom is magnificent.
