1 La obstinación del pueblo de Dios<br />»Escúchame, oh familia de Jacob,<br />tú que llevas el nombre de Israel<br />y naciste en la familia de Judá.<br />Escucha, tú que haces juramentos en el nombre del Señor<br />e invocas al Dios de Israel.<br />No cumples tus promesas,

“Listen to this, you descendants of Jacob, you who are called by the name of Israel and come from the line of Judah, you who take oaths in the name of the LORDand invoke the God of Israel— but not in truth or righteousness—
2 aunque te llamas a ti misma la ciudad santa<br />y dices que confías en el Dios de Israel,<br />cuyo nombre es el Señor<br /> de los Ejércitos Celestiales.

you who call yourselves citizens of the holy city and claim to rely on the God of Israel— the LORD Almighty is his name:
3 Hace mucho tiempo te dije lo que iba a suceder.<br />Entonces, de repente entré en acción<br />y todas mis predicciones se hicieron realidad.

I foretold the former things long ago, my mouth announced them and I made them known; then suddenly I acted, and they came to pass.
4 Pues yo sé lo terca y obstinada que eres;<br />tu cuello es tan inflexible como el hierro<br />y tu cabeza es tan dura como el bronce.

For I knew how stubborn you were; your neck muscles were iron, your forehead was bronze.
5 Por eso te dije lo que iba a suceder;<br />te anuncié de antemano lo que iba a hacer.<br />Así nunca podrías decir: “Mis ídolos lo hicieron;<br />mi imagen de madera y mi dios de metal ordenaron que sucediera”.

Therefore I told you these things long ago; before they happened I announced them to you so that you could not say, ‘My images brought them about; my wooden image and metal god ordained them.’
6 Oíste mis predicciones y las viste cumplidas,<br />pero te niegas a admitirlo.<br />Ahora te diré cosas nuevas,<br />cosas secretas que aún no has oído.

You have heard these things; look at them all. Will you not admit them? “From now on I will tell you of new things, of hidden things unknown to you.
7 Son totalmente nuevas; no son del pasado.<br />Así que no podrás decir: “¡Eso ya lo sabíamos!”.

They are created now, and not long ago; you have not heard of them before today. So you cannot say, ‘Yes, I knew of them.’
8 »Sí, te diré cosas completamente nuevas;<br />cosas que nunca antes habías oído.<br />Pues conozco muy bien lo traidora que eres;<br />fuiste rebelde desde tu nacimiento.

You have neither heard nor understood; from of old your ears have not been open. Well do I know how treacherous you are; you were called a rebel from birth.
9 Sin embargo, por el amor y la honra de mi nombre,<br />contendré mi enojo y no te aniquilaré.

For my own name’s sake I delay my wrath; for the sake of my praise I hold it back from you, so as not to destroy you completely.
10 Te he refinado, pero no como se refina la plata;<br />más bien te he refinado en el horno del sufrimiento.

See, I have refined you, though not as silver; I have tested you in the furnace of affliction.
11 Te rescataré por amor de mí;<br />sí, por amor de mí mismo.<br />No permitiré que se manche mi reputación,<br />ni compartiré mi gloria con los ídolos.

For my own sake, for my own sake, I do this. How can I let myself be defamed? I will not yield my glory to another.
12 Liberados de Babilonia<br />»Escúchame, oh familia de Jacob,<br />¡Israel, mi escogido!<br />Solo yo soy Dios,<br />el Primero y el Último.

“Listen to me, Jacob, Israel, whom I have called: I am he; I am the first and I am the last.
13 Fue mi mano la que puso los cimientos de la tierra,<br />mi mano derecha la que extendió los cielos en las alturas.<br />Cuando llamo a las estrellas para que salgan,<br />aparecen todas en orden».

My own hand laid the foundations of the earth, and my right hand spread out the heavens; when I summon them, they all stand up together.
14 ¿Alguna vez te ha dicho esto uno de tus ídolos?<br />Vengan, todos ustedes, y escuchen:<br />El Señor<br /> ha escogido a Ciro como su aliado;<br />lo usará para poner fin al imperio de Babilonia<br />y para destruir a los ejércitos babilónicos.

“Come together, all of you, and listen: Which of the idols has foretold these things? The LORD’s chosen ally will carry out his purpose against Babylon; his arm will be against the Babylonians.
15 «Lo he dicho: ¡Llamo a Ciro!<br />Lo enviaré a cumplir este encargo y lo ayudaré para que triunfe.

I, even I, have spoken; yes, I have called him. I will bring him, and he will succeed in his mission.
16 Acérquense y escuchen esto:<br />desde el principio les he dicho con claridad lo que sucedería».<br />Ahora, el Señor<br /> Soberano y su Espíritu<br />me han enviado con este mensaje.

“Come near me and listen to this: “From the first announcement I have not spoken in secret; at the time it happens, I am there.” And now the Sovereign LORD has sent me, endowed with his Spirit.
17 Esto dice el Señor<br />,<br />tu Redentor, el Santo de Israel:<br />«Yo soy el Señor<br /> tu Dios,<br />que te enseña lo que te conviene<br />y te guía por las sendas que debes seguir.

This is what the LORD says— your Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel: “I am the LORD your God, who teaches you what is best for you, who directs you in the way you should go.
18 ¡Ah, si solo hubieras hecho caso a mis mandatos!<br />Entonces habrías tenido una paz que correría como un río manso<br />y una justicia que pasaría sobre ti como las olas del mar.

If only you had paid attention to my commands, your peace would have been like a river, your well-being like the waves of the sea.
19 Tus descendientes habrían sido como la arena del mar,<br />¡imposibles de contar!<br />No habría sido necesario destruirte<br />ni cortar el nombre de tu familia».

Your descendants would have been like the sand, your children like its numberless grains; their name would never be blotted out nor destroyed from before me.”
20 Sin embargo, incluso ahora, ¡sean libres de su cautiverio!<br />Salgan de Babilonia y de los babilonios.<br />¡Canten este mensaje!<br />Grítenlo hasta los extremos de la tierra.<br />El Señor<br /> ha redimido a sus siervos:<br />a los del pueblo de Israel.

Leave Babylon, flee from the Babylonians! Announce this with shouts of joy and proclaim it. Send it out to the ends of the earth; say, “The LORD has redeemed his servant Jacob.”
21 No tuvieron sed<br />cuando él los guió a través del desierto.<br />Él partió la roca,<br />y brotó agua a chorros para que bebieran.

They did not thirst when he led them through the deserts; he made water flow for them from the rock; he split the rock and water gushed out.
22 «Pero no hay paz para los malvados»,<br />dice el Señor<br />.

“There is no peace,” says the LORD, “for the wicked.”
