James 1:13-18

KJV 13 Let no man say when he is tempted, I am tempted of God: for God cannot be tempted with evil, neither tempteth he any man: NIV 13 When tempted, no one should say, “God is tempting me.” For God cannot be tempted by evil, nor does he tempt anyone; KJV 14 But every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed. NIV 14 but each person is tempted when they are dragged away by their own evil desire and enticed. KJV 15 Then when lust hath conceived, it bringeth forth sin: and sin, when it is finished, bringeth forth death. NIV 15 Then, after desire has conceived, it gives birth to sin; and sin, when it is full-grown, gives birth to death. KJV 16 Do not err, my beloved brethren. NIV 16 Don’t be deceived, my dear brothers and sisters. KJV 17 Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning. NIV 17 Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows. KJV 18 Of his own will begat he us with the word of truth, that we should be a kind of firstfruits of his creatures. NIV 18 He chose to give us birth through the word of truth, that we might be a kind of firstfruits of all he created.
