Job 42:1-6

CEB 1 Job answered the LORD: NRS 1 Then Job answered the Lord: CEB 2 I know you can do anything; no plan of yours can be opposed successfully. NRS 2 "I know that you can do all things, and that no purpose of yours can be thwarted. CEB 3 You said,"Who is this darkening counsel without knowledge?" I have indeed spoken about things I didn't understand, wonders beyond my comprehension. NRS 3 "Who is this that hides counsel without knowledge?' Therefore I have uttered what I did not understand, things too wonderful for me, which I did not know. CEB 4 You said,"Listen and I will speak; I will question you and you will inform me." NRS 4 "Hear, and I will speak; I will question you, and you declare to me.' CEB 5 My ears had heard about you, but now my eyes have seen you. NRS 5 I had heard of you by the hearing of the ear, but now my eye sees you; CEB 6 Therefore, I relent and find comfort on dust and ashes. NRS 6 therefore I despise myself, and repent in dust and ashes."

CEB 10 Then the LORD changed Job's fortune when he prayed for his friends, and the LORD doubled all Job's earlier possessions. NRS 10 And the Lord restored the fortunes of Job when he had prayed for his friends; and the Lord gave Job twice as much as he had before. CEB 11 All his brothers, sisters, and acquaintances came to him and ate food with him in his house. They comforted and consoled him concerning all the disaster the LORD had brought on him, and each one gave him a qesitah and a gold ring. NRS 11 Then there came to him all his brothers and sisters and all who had known him before, and they ate bread with him in his house; they showed him sympathy and comforted him for all the evil that the Lord had brought upon him; and each of them gave him a piece of money and a gold ring. CEB 12 Then the LORD blessed Job's latter days more than his former ones. He had fourteen thousand sheep, six thousand camels, one thousand yoke of oxen, and one thousand female donkeys. NRS 12 The Lord blessed the latter days of Job more than his beginning; and he had fourteen thousand sheep, six thousand camels, a thousand yoke of oxen, and a thousand donkeys. CEB 13 He also had seven sons and three daughters. NRS 13 He also had seven sons and three daughters. CEB 14 He named one Jemimah, a second Keziah, and the third Keren-happuch. NRS 14 He named the first Jemimah, the second Keziah, and the third Keren-happuch. CEB 15 No women in all the land were as beautiful as Job's daughters; and their father gave an inheritance to them along with their brothers. NRS 15 In all the land there were no women so beautiful as Job's daughters; and their father gave them an inheritance along with their brothers. CEB 16 After this, Job lived 140 years and saw four generations of his children. NRS 16 After this Job lived one hundred and forty years, and saw his children, and his children's children, four generations. CEB 17 Then Job died, old and satisfied. NRS 17 And Job died, old and full of days.
