1 Yúyuèjié yǐqián , Yēsū zhīdào zìjǐ lí shì guī fù de shíhou dào le . tā jì aì shì jiān shǔ zìjǐ de rén , jiù aì tāmen dàodǐ .
1 It was just before the Passover Festival. Jesus knew that the hour had come for him to leave this world and go to the Father. Having loved his own who were in the world, he loved them to the end.
2 Chī wǎnfàn de shíhou , ( móguǐ yǐ jiāng maì Yēsū de yìsi , fàng zaì Xīmén de érzi Jiālǜe rén Yóudà xīnli ) .
2 The evening meal was in progress, and the devil had already prompted Judas, the son of Simon Iscariot, to betray Jesus.
3 Yēsū zhīdào fù yǐ jiāng wàn yǒu jiāo zaì tā shǒu lǐ , qiĕ zhīdào zìjǐ shì cōng shén chūlai de , yòu yào guī dào shén nàli qù ,
3 Jesus knew that the Father had put all things under his power, and that he had come from God and was returning to God;
4 Jiù lí xí zhàn qǐlai tuō le yīfu , ná yī tiaó shǒujin shùyào .
4 so he got up from the meal, took off his outer clothing, and wrapped a towel around his waist.
5 Suíhòu bǎ shuǐ dào zaì pén lǐ , jiù xǐ méntǔ de jiǎo , bīng yòng zìjǐ suǒ shù de shǒujin cā gān .
5 After that, he poured water into a basin and began to wash his disciples’ feet, drying them with the towel that was wrapped around him.
6 Āi dào Xīmén Bǐdé , Bǐdé duì tā shuō , Zhǔ a , nǐ xǐ wǒde jiǎo ma .
6 He came to Simon Peter, who said to him, “Lord, are you going to wash my feet?”
7 Yēsū huídá shuō , wǒ suǒ zuò de , nǐ rújīn bù zhīdào , hòulái bì míngbai .
7 Jesus replied, “You do not realize now what I am doing, but later you will understand.”
8 Bǐdé shuō , nǐ yǒng bùkĕ xǐ wǒde jiǎo . Yēsū shuō , wǒ ruò bù xǐ nǐ , nǐ jiù yù wǒ wú fēn le .
8 “No,” said Peter, “you shall never wash my feet.” Jesus answered, “Unless I wash you, you have no part with me.”
9 Xīmén Bǐdé shuō , Zhǔ a , búdàn wǒde jiǎo , lián shǒu hé tóu yĕ yào xǐ .
9 “Then, Lord,” Simon Peter replied, “not just my feet but my hands and my head as well!”
10 Yēsū shuō , fán xǐ guō zǎo de rén , zhǐyào bǎ jiǎo yī xǐ , quán shēn jiù gānjing le . nǐmen shì gānjing de , ránér bù dōu shì gānjing de .
10 Jesus answered, “Those who have had a bath need only to wash their feet; their whole body is clean. And you are clean, though not every one of you.”
11 Yēsū yuán zhīdào yào maì tāde shì shuí , suǒyǐ shuō , nǐmen bù dōu shì gānjing de .
11 For he knew who was going to betray him, and that was why he said not every one was clean.
12 Yēsū xǐ wán le tāmende jiǎo , jiù chuān shàngyī fù , yòu zuò xià , duì tāmen shuō , wǒ xiàng nǐmen suǒ zuò de , nǐmen míngbai má .
12 When he had finished washing their feet, he put on his clothes and returned to his place. “Do you understand what I have done for you?” he asked them.
13 Nǐmen chēnghu wǒ fūzǐ , chēnghu wǒ zhǔ , nǐmen shuō de búcuò . wǒ bĕnlái shì .
13 “You call me ‘Teacher’ and ‘Lord,’ and rightly so, for that is what I am.
14 Wǒ shì nǐmen de zhǔ , nǐmen de fūzǐ , shàngqiĕ xǐ nǐmen de jiǎo , nǐmen yĕ dàng bǐcǐ xǐ jiǎo .
14 Now that I, your Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you also should wash one another’s feet.
15 Wǒ gĕi nǐmen zuò le bǎngyàng , jiào nǐmen zhào zhe wǒ xiàng nǐmen suǒ zuò de qù zuò .
15 I have set you an example that you should do as I have done for you.
16 Wǒ shí shízaì zaì de gàosu nǐmen , púrén bùnéng dà yú zhǔrén . chāi rén yĕ bùnéng dà yú chāi tāde rén .
16 Very truly I tell you, no servant is greater than his master, nor is a messenger greater than the one who sent him.
17 Nǐmen jì zhīdào zhè shì , ruò shì qù xíng jiù yǒu fú le .
17 Now that you know these things, you will be blessed if you do them.
18 Wǒ zhè huà bù shì zhī zhe nǐmen zhòngrén shuō de . wǒ zhīdào wǒ suǒ jiǎnxuǎn de shì shuí . xiànzaì yào yìngyàn jìng shàng de huà , shuō , tóng wǒ chī fàn de rén , yòng jiǎo tī wǒ .
18 “I am not referring to all of you; I know those I have chosen. But this is to fulfill this passage of Scripture: ‘He who shared my bread has turnedagainst me.’
19 Rújīn shìqing hái méiyǒu chéngjiù , wǒ yào xiān gàosu nǐmen , jiào nǐmen dào shìqing chéngjiù de shíhou , kĕyǐ xìn wǒ shì Jīdū
19 “I am telling you now before it happens, so that when it does happen you will believe that I am who I am.
20 Wǒ shíshízaìzaì de gàosu nǐmen , yǒu rén jiēdaì wǒ suǒ chāiqiǎn de , jiù shì jiēdaì wǒ . jiēdaì wǒ , jiù shì jiēdaì nà chāiqiǎn wǒde .
20 Very truly I tell you, whoever accepts anyone I send accepts me; and whoever accepts me accepts the one who sent me.”
21 Yēsū shuō le zhè huà , xīnli yōuchóu , jiù míng shuō , wǒ shí shízaì zaì de gàosu nǐmen , nǐmen zhōngjiān yǒu yī gèrén yào maì wǒ le .
21 After he had said this, Jesus was troubled in spirit and testified, “Very truly I tell you, one of you is going to betray me.”

22 His disciples stared at one another, at a loss to know which of them he meant.
23 Yǒu yī gè méntǔ , shì Yēsū suǒ aì de , cè shēn āijìn Yēsū de huái lǐ .
23 One of them, the disciple whom Jesus loved, was reclining next to him.
24 Xīmén Bǐdé diǎn tóu duì tā shuō , nǐ gàosu wǒmen , zhǔ shì zhī zhe shuí shuō de .
24 Simon Peter motioned to this disciple and said, “Ask him which one he means.”
25 Nà méntǔ biàn jiùshì kào zhe Yēsū de xiōng táng , wèn tā shuō , Zhǔ a , shì shuí ne .
25 Leaning back against Jesus, he asked him, “Lord, who is it?”
26 Yēsū huídá shuō , wǒ zhàn yídiǎn bǐng gĕi shuí , jiù shì shuí . Yēsū jiù zhàn le yídiǎn bǐng , dìgĕi Jiālǜe rén Xīmén de érzi Yóudà .
26 Jesus answered, “It is the one to whom I will give this piece of bread when I have dipped it in the dish.” Then, dipping the piece of bread, he gave it to Judas, the son of Simon Iscariot.
27 Tā chī le yǐhòu , Sādàn jiù rù le tāde xīn . Yēsū duì tā shuō , nǐ suǒ zuò de kuaì zuò bā .
27 As soon as Judas took the bread, Satan entered into him. So Jesus told him, “What you are about to do, do quickly.”
28 Tóng xí de rén , méiyǒu yī gè zhīdào shì wèishénme duì tāmen shuō zhè huà .
28 But no one at the meal understood why Jesus said this to him.
29 Yǒu rén yīn Yóudà daì zhe qián nǎng , yǐwéi Yēsū shì duì tā shuō , nǐ qù mǎi wǒmen guō jiē suǒ yìngyòng de dōngxi . huò shì jiào tā ná shénme zhōujì qióngrén .
29 Since Judas had charge of the money, some thought Jesus was telling him to buy what was needed for the festival, or to give something to the poor.
30 Yóudà shòu le nà diǎn bǐng , lìkè jiù chū qù . nàshíhòu shì yè jiàn le .
30 As soon as Judas had taken the bread, he went out. And it was night.
31 Tā jì chū qù , Yēsū jiù shuō , rújīn Rénzǐ dé le róngyào , shén zaì Rénzǐ shēnshang yĕ dé le róngyào .
31 When he was gone, Jesus said, “Now the Son of Man is glorified and God is glorified in him.
32 Shén yào yīn zìjǐ róngyào Rénzǐ , bìngqiĕ yào kuaì kuaì de róngyào tā .
32 If God is glorified in him,God will glorify the Son in himself, and will glorify him at once.
33 Xiǎozi men , wǒ hái yǒu bù duō de shíhou , yǔ nǐmen tóng zaì . hòulái nǐmen yào zhǎo wǒ , dàn wǒ suǒ qù de dìfang , nǐmen bùnéng dào . zhè huà wǒ céng duì Yóutaìrén shuō guō , rújīn yĕ zhàoyàng duì nǐmen shuō .
33 “My children, I will be with you only a little longer. You will look for me, and just as I told the Jews, so I tell you now: Where I am going, you cannot come.
34 Wǒ cìgĕi nǐmen yī tiaó xīn mìnglìng , nǎi shì jiào nǐmen bǐcǐ xiāng aì . wǒ zĕnyàng aì nǐmen , nǐmen yĕ yào zĕnyàng xiāng aì .
34 “A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another.
35 Nǐmen ruò yǒu bǐcǐ xiāng aì de xīn , zhòngrén yīncǐ jiù rèn chū nǐmen shì wǒde méntǔ le .
35 By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.”
36 Xīmén Bǐdé wèn Yēsū shuō , zhǔ wàng nàli qù . Yēsū huídá shuō , wǒ suǒ qù de dìfang , nǐ xiànzaì bùnéng gēn wǒ qù . hòulái què yào gēn wǒ qù .
36 Simon Peter asked him, “Lord, where are you going?” Jesus replied, “Where I am going, you cannot follow now, but you will follow later.”
37 Bǐdé shuō , Zhǔ a , wǒ wèishénme xiànzaì bùnéng gēn nǐ qù . wǒ yuànyì wèi nǐ shĕmìng .
37 Peter asked, “Lord, why can’t I follow you now? I will lay down my life for you.”
38 Yēsū shuō , nǐ yuànyì wéi wǒ shĕmìng má . wǒ shí shízaì zaì de gàosu nǐ , jī jiào yǐ xiān , nǐ yào sān cì bù rèn wǒ .
38 Then Jesus answered, “Will you really lay down your life for me? Very truly I tell you, before the rooster crows, you will disown me three times!
