1 Zhè shì yǐhòu , Yēsū zaì Jiālìlì yóuxíng , bú yuàn zaì Yóutaì yóuxíng . yīnwei Yóutaìrén xiǎng yào shā tā .
1 After this, Jesus went around in Galilee. He did not want to go about in Judea because the Jewish leaders there were looking for a way to kill him.
2 Dāngshí Yóutaìrén de zhù péng jié jìn le .
2 But when the Jewish Festival of Tabernacles was near,
3 Yēsū de dìxiōng jiù duì tā shuō , nǐ líkāi zhèlǐ shang Yóutaì qù ba , jiào nǐde méntǔ yĕ kànjian nǐ suǒ xíng de shì .
3 Jesus’ brothers said to him, “Leave Galilee and go to Judea, so that your disciples there may see the works you do.
4 Rén yào xiǎn yáng míngsheng , méiyǒu zaì àn chù xíngshì de . nǐ rúguǒ xíng zhè shì , jiù dàng jiāng zìjǐ xiǎnmíng gĕi shìrén kàn .
4 No one who wants to become a public figure acts in secret. Since you are doing these things, show yourself to the world.”
5 Yīnwei lián tāde dìxiōng shuō zhè huà , shì yīnwei bú xìn tā .
5 For even his own brothers did not believe in him.
6 Yēsū jiù duì tāmen shuō , wǒde shíhou hái méiyǒu dào . nǐmen de shíhou cháng shì fāngbiàn de .
6 Therefore Jesus told them, “My time is not yet here; for you any time will do.
7 Shìrén bùnéng hèn nǐmen , què shì hèn wǒ . yīnwei wǒ zhī zhèng tāmen suǒ zuò de shì shì ĕ de .
7 The world cannot hate you, but it hates me because I testify that its works are evil.
8 Nǐmen shàng qù guò jié ba . wǒ xiànzaì bú shàng qù guo zhè jiē . yīnwei wǒde shíhou hái méiyǒu mǎn .
8 You go to the festival. I am not going up to this festival, because my time has not yet fully come.”
9 Yēsū shuō le zhè huà , réngjiù zhù zaì Jiālìlì .
9 After he had said this, he stayed in Galilee.
10 Dàn tā xiōngdi shàng qù yǐhòu , tā yĕ shàng qù guò jié , bú shì míng qù , sìhu shì àn qù de .
10 However, after his brothers had left for the festival, he went also, not publicly, but in secret.
11 Zhèngzaì jiéqī , Yóutaìrén xúnzhǎo Yēsū shuō , tā zaì nàli .
11 Now at the festival the Jewish leaders were watching for Jesus and asking, “Where is he?”
12 Zhòngrén wèi tā fēnfēn yìlùn . yǒude shuō , tā shì hǎo rén . yǒude shuō , bú rán , tā shì míhuò zhòngrén de .
12 Among the crowds there was widespread whispering about him. Some said, “He is a good man.” Others replied, “No, he deceives the people.”
13 Zhǐshì méiyǒu rén míng míng de jiǎnglùn tā , yīnwei pà Yóutaìrén .
13 But no one would say anything publicly about him for fear of the leaders.
14 Dào le jiéqī , Yēsū shàng diàn lǐ qù jiàoxun rén .
14 Not until halfway through the festival did Jesus go up to the temple courts and begin to teach.
15 Yóutaìrén jiù xīqí shuō , zhège rén méiyǒu xué guō , zĕnme míngbai shū ne .
15 The Jews there were amazed and asked, “How did this man get such learning without having been taught?”
16 Yēsū shuō , wǒde jiàoxun bú shì wǒ zìjǐ de , nǎi shì nà chāi wǒ lái zhĕ de .
16 Jesus answered, “My teaching is not my own. It comes from the one who sent me.
17 Rén ruò lìzhì zūn zhe tāde zhǐyì xíng , jiù bì xiǎodé zhè jiàoxun huò shì chūyú shén , huò shì wǒ píng zhe zìjǐ shuō de .
17 Anyone who chooses to do the will of God will find out whether my teaching comes from God or whether I speak on my own.
18 Rén píng zhe zìjǐ shuō , shì qiú zìjǐ de róngyào . wéiyǒu qiú nà chāi tā lái zhĕ de róngyào , zhè rén shì zhēn de , zaì tā xīnli méiyǒu bú yì .
18 Whoever speaks on their own does so to gain personal glory, but he who seeks the glory of the one who sent him is a man of truth; there is nothing false about him.
19 Móxī qǐbù shì chuán lǜfǎ gĕi nǐmen má . nǐmen què méiyǒu yī gèrén shǒu lǜfǎ . wèishénme xiǎng yào shā wǒ ne .
19 Has not Moses given you the law? Yet not one of you keeps the law. Why are you trying to kill me?”
20 Zhòngrén huídá shuō , nǐ shì beì guǐ fùzhuó le . shuí xiǎng yào shā nǐ .
20 “You are demon-possessed,” the crowd answered. “Who is trying to kill you?”
21 Yēsū shuō , wǒ zuò le yī jiàn shì , nǐmen dōu yǐwéi xīqí .
21 Jesus said to them, “I did one miracle, and you are all amazed.
22 Móxī chuán gēlǐ gĕi nǐmen , ( qíshí bú shì cōng Móxī qǐ de , nǎi shì cōng zǔxiān qǐ de ) yīncǐ nǐmen yĕ yào zaì ānxīrì gĕi rén xíng gēlǐ .
22 Yet, because Moses gave you circumcision (though actually it did not come from Moses, but from the patriarchs), you circumcise a boy on the Sabbath.
23 Rén ruò zaì ānxīrì shòu gēlǐ , miǎndé wéibeì Móxī de lǜfǎ . wǒ zaì ānxīrì jiào yī gèrén quán rán hǎo le , nǐmen jiù xiàng wǒ shēngqì má .
23 Now if a boy can be circumcised on the Sabbath so that the law of Moses may not be broken, why are you angry with me for healing a man’s whole body on the Sabbath?
24 Bùkĕ àn waìmào duàndìng shìfēi , zǒng yào àn gōngping duàndìng shìfēi .
24 Stop judging by mere appearances, but instead judge correctly.”
25 Yēlùsǎlĕng rén zhōng yǒude shuō , zhè bú shì tāmen xiǎng yào shā de rén má .
25 At that point some of the people of Jerusalem began to ask, “Isn’t this the man they are trying to kill?
26 Nǐ kàn tā hái míng míng de jiǎng dào , tāmen yĕ bú xiàng tā shuō shénme . nándào guān zhǎng zhēn zhīdào zhè shì Jīdū má .
26 Here he is, speaking publicly, and they are not saying a word to him. Have the authorities really concluded that he is the Messiah?
27 Ránér wǒmen zhīdào zhège rén cōng nàli lái . zhǐshì Jīdū lái de shíhou , méiyǒu rén zhīdào tā shì cōng nàli lái de .
27 But we know where this man is from; when the Messiah comes, no one will know where he is from.”
28 Nàshí Yēsū zaì diàn lǐ jiàoxun rén , dàshēng shuō , nǐmen yĕ zhīdào wǒ , yĕ zhīdào wǒ cōng nàli lái . wǒ lái bìng bú shì yóuyú zìjǐ , dàn nà chāi wǒ lái de shì zhēn de . nǐmen bú rènshi tā .
28 Then Jesus, still teaching in the temple courts, cried out, “Yes, you know me, and you know where I am from. I am not here on my own authority, but he who sent me is true. You do not know him,
29 Wǒ què rènshi tā . yīnwei wǒ shì cōng tā lái de , tā yĕ chāi le wǒ lái .
29 but I know him because I am from him and he sent me.”
30 Tāmen jiù xiǎng yào zhuōná Yēsū . zhǐshì méiyǒu rén xià shǒu , yīnwei tāde shíhou hái méiyǒu dào .
30 At this they tried to seize him, but no one laid a hand on him, because his hour had not yet come.
31 Dàn zhòngrén zhōngjiān yǒu xiē xìn tāde , shuō , Jīdū lái de shíhou , tā suǒ xíng de shénjī , qǐnéng bǐ zhè rén suǒ xíng de gèng duō má .
31 Still, many in the crowd believed in him. They said, “When the Messiah comes, will he perform more signs than this man?”
32 Fǎlìsaìrén tīngjian zhòngrén wéi Yēsū zhèyàng fēnfēn yìlùn , Jìsīzhǎng hé Fǎlìsaìrén , jiù dǎfa chāiyì qù zhuōná tā .
32 The Pharisees heard the crowd whispering such things about him. Then the chief priests and the Pharisees sent temple guards to arrest him.
33 Yúshì Yēsū shuō , wǒ hái yǒu bù duō de shíhou hé nǐmen tóng zaì , yǐhòu jiù huí dào chāi wǒ lái de nàli qù .
33 Jesus said, “I am with you for only a short time, and then I am going to the one who sent me.
34 Nǐmen yào zhǎo wǒ , què zhǎo bú zhāo . wǒ suǒ zaì de dìfang nǐmen bùnéng dào .
34 You will look for me, but you will not find me; and where I am, you cannot come.”
35 Yóutaìrén jiù bǐcǐ duì wèn shuō , zhè rén yào wǎng nàli qù , jiào wǒmen zhǎo bú zhāo ne . nándào tā yào wǎng sàn zhù Xīlà zhòng de Yóutaìrén nàli qù jiàoxun Xīlà rén má .
35 The Jews said to one another, “Where does this man intend to go that we cannot find him? Will he go where our people live scattered among the Greeks, and teach the Greeks?
36 Tā shuō , nǐmen yào zhǎo wǒ , què zhǎo bú zhāo , wǒ suǒ zaì de dìfang , nǐmen bùnéng dào . zhè huà shì shénme yìsi ne .
36 What did he mean when he said, ‘You will look for me, but you will not find me,’ and ‘Where I am, you cannot come’?”
37 Jiéqī de mò rì , jiù shì zuì dà zhī rì , Yēsū zhàn zhe gāo shēng shuō , rén ruò kĕ le , kĕyǐ dào wǒ zhèlǐ lái hē .
37 On the last and greatest day of the festival, Jesus stood and said in a loud voice, “Let anyone who is thirsty come to me and drink.
38 Xìn wǒde rén , jiù rú jīng shang suǒ shuō , cóng tā fù zhōng yào liú chū huó shuǐ de jiāng hé lái .
38 Whoever believes in me, as Scripture has said, rivers of living water will flow from within them.”
39 Yēsū zhè huà shì zhī zhe xìn tā zhī rén , yào shòu Shènglíng shuō de , nàshí hái méiyǒu cì xià Shènglíng lái , yīnwei Yēsū shàng wèi dé zhe róngyào .
39 By this he meant the Spirit, whom those who believed in him were later to receive. Up to that time the Spirit had not been given, since Jesus had not yet been glorified.
40 Zhòngrén tīngjian zhè huà , yǒude shuō , zhè zhēn shì nà xiānzhī .
40 On hearing his words, some of the people said, “Surely this man is the Prophet.”
41 Yǒude shuō , zhè shì Jīdū . dàn yĕ yǒude shuō , Jīdū qǐ shì cōng Jiālìlì chūlai de má .
41 Others said, “He is the Messiah.” Still others asked, “How can the Messiah come from Galilee?
42 Jīng shǎng qǐbù shì shuō , Jīdū shì Dàwèi de hòuyì , cōng Dàwèi bĕn xiāng Bólìhéng chūlai de má .
42 Does not Scripture say that the Messiah will come from David’s descendants and from Bethlehem, the town where David lived?”
43 Yúshì zhòngrén yīn zhe Yēsū qǐ le fèn zhēng .
43 Thus the people were divided because of Jesus.
44 Qízhōng yǒu rén yào zhuōná tā . zhǐshì wú rén xià shǒu .
44 Some wanted to seize him, but no one laid a hand on him.
45 Chāiyì huí dào Jìsīzhǎng hé Fǎlìsaìrén nàli . tāmen duì chāiyì shuō , nǐmen wèishénme méiyǒu daì tā lái ne .
45 Finally the temple guards went back to the chief priests and the Pharisees, who asked them, “Why didn’t you bring him in?”
46 Chāiyì huídá shuō , cónglái méiyǒu xiàng tā zhèyàng shuōhuà de .
46 “No one ever spoke the way this man does,” the guards replied.
47 Fǎlìsaìrén shuō , nǐmen yĕ shòu le míhuò má .
47 “You mean he has deceived you also?” the Pharisees retorted.
48 Guān zhǎng huò shì Fǎlìsaìrén , qǐ yǒu xìn tāde ne .
48 “Have any of the rulers or of the Pharisees believed in him?
49 Dàn zhèxie bù míngbai lǜfǎ de bǎixìng , shì beì zhòuzǔ de .
49 No! But this mob that knows nothing of the law—there is a curse on them.”
50 Neì zhōng yǒu Nígēdǐmǔ , jiù shì cōng qián qù jiàn Yēsū de , duì tāmen shuō ,
50 Nicodemus, who had gone to Jesus earlier and who was one of their own number, asked,
51 Bú xiān tīng bĕn rén de kǒu gòng , bú zhīdào tā suǒ zuò de shì , nándào wǒmen de lǜfǎ hái dìng tāde zuì má .
51 “Does our law condemn a man without first hearing him to find out what he has been doing?”
52 Tāmen huídá shuō , nǐ yĕ shì chūyú Jiālìlì má . nǐ qiĕ qù chákǎo , jiù kè zhīdào , Jiālìlì méiyǒu chū guō xiānzhī .
52 They replied, “Are you from Galilee, too? Look into it, and you will find that a prophet does not come out of Galilee.”
53 Yúshì gèrén dōu huí jiā qù le .
53 Then they all went home,
