1 Nacimiento de Sansón<br />Una vez más, los israelitas hicieron lo malo a los ojos del Señor<br />, así que el Señor<br /> los entregó en manos de los filisteos, quienes los oprimieron durante cuarenta años.

Again the Israelites did evil in the eyes of the LORD, so the LORD delivered them into the hands of the Philistines for forty years.
2 En esos días, vivía en la ciudad de Zora un hombre llamado Manoa, de la tribu de Dan. Su esposa no podía quedar embarazada, y no tenían hijos.

A certain man of Zorah, named Manoah, from the clan of the Danites, had a wife who was childless, unable to give birth.
3 Entonces el ángel del Señor<br /> se le apareció a la esposa de Manoa y le dijo: «Aunque no has podido tener hijos, pronto quedarás embarazada y darás a luz un hijo varón.

The angel of the LORD appeared to her and said, “You are barren and childless, but you are going to become pregnant and give birth to a son.
4 Así que ten cuidado; no debes beber vino ni ninguna otra bebida alcohólica ni comer ninguno de los alimentos prohibidos.

Now see to it that you drink no wine or other fermented drink and that you do not eat anything unclean.
5 Quedarás embarazada y darás a luz un hijo, a quien jamás se le debe cortar el cabello. Pues él será consagrado a Dios como nazareo desde su nacimiento. Él comenzará a rescatar a Israel de manos de los filisteos».

You will become pregnant and have a son whose head is never to be touched by a razor because the boy is to be a Nazirite, dedicated to God from the womb. He will take the lead in delivering Israel from the hands of the Philistines.”
6 La mujer corrió a decirle a su esposo: «¡Se me apareció un hombre de Dios! Tenía el aspecto de uno de los ángeles de Dios, daba miedo verlo. No le pregunté de dónde era, y no me dijo su nombre.

Then the woman went to her husband and told him, “A man of God came to me. He looked like an angel of God, very awesome. I didn’t ask him where he came from, and he didn’t tell me his name.
7 Pero me dijo: “Quedarás embarazada y darás a luz un hijo. No debes beber vino ni ninguna otra bebida alcohólica, ni comer ninguno de los alimentos prohibidos. Pues tu hijo será consagrado a Dios como nazareo desde el día de su nacimiento hasta el día de su muerte”».

But he said to me, ‘You will become pregnant and have a son. Now then, drink no wine or other fermented drink and do not eat anything unclean, because the boy will be a Nazirite of God from the womb until the day of his death.’ ”
8 Entonces Manoa oró al Señor<br /> diciendo: «Señor, te pido que el hombre de Dios vuelva a nosotros y nos dé más instrucciones acerca del hijo que nacerá».

Then Manoah prayed to the LORD: “Pardon your servant, Lord. I beg you to let the man of God you sent to us come again to teach us how to bring up the boy who is to be born.”
9 Dios respondió a la oración de Manoa, y el ángel de Dios se le apareció otra vez a la esposa mientras estaba sentada en el campo; pero Manoa, su esposo, no estaba con ella.

God heard Manoah, and the angel of God came again to the woman while she was out in the field; but her husband Manoah was not with her.
10 Así que, enseguida ella fue corriendo a contarle a su esposo: «¡El hombre que se me apareció el otro día está aquí de nuevo!».

The woman hurried to tell her husband, “He’s here! The man who appeared to me the other day!”
11 Manoa regresó corriendo con su esposa y preguntó:<br />—¿Eres el hombre que le habló a mi esposa el otro día?<br />—Sí —contestó él—, soy yo.

Manoah got up and followed his wife. When he came to the man, he said, “Are you the man who talked to my wife?” “I am,” he said.
12 Entonces Manoa le preguntó:<br />—Cuando tus palabras se hagan realidad, ¿qué reglas deben gobernar la vida y el trabajo del muchacho?

So Manoah asked him, “When your words are fulfilled, what is to be the rule that governs the boy’s life and work?”
13 El ángel del Señor<br /> le contestó:<br />—Asegúrate de que tu esposa siga las instrucciones que le di.

The angel of the LORD answered, “Your wife must do all that I have told her.
14 No debe comer uvas ni pasas ni beber vino u otra bebida alcohólica, ni comer ningún alimento prohibido.
14
She must not eat anything that comes from the grapevine, nor drink any wine or other fermented drink nor eat anything unclean. She must do everything I have commanded her.”
15 Entonces Manoa le dijo al ángel del Señor<br />:<br />—Por favor, quédate aquí hasta que preparemos un cabrito para que comas.

Manoah said to the angel of the LORD, “We would like you to stay until we prepare a young goat for you.”
16 —Me quedaré —le contestó el ángel del Señor<br />—, pero no comeré nada. En cambio, puedes preparar una ofrenda quemada como sacrificio al Señor<br />.<br />(Manoa no se daba cuenta de que era el ángel del Señor<br />).

The angel of the LORD replied, “Even though you detain me, I will not eat any of your food. But if you prepare a burnt offering, offer it to the LORD.” (Manoah did not realize that it was the angel of the LORD.)
17 Entonces Manoa le preguntó al ángel del Señor<br />:<br />—¿Cómo te llamas? Pues queremos honrarte cuando todo esto se haga realidad.

Then Manoah inquired of the angel of the LORD, “What is your name, so that we may honor you when your word comes true?”
18 —¿Para qué preguntas mi nombre? —contestó el ángel del Señor<br />—. Es demasiado maravilloso para que tú lo comprendas.

He replied, “Why do you ask my name? It is beyond understanding. ”
19 Después Manoa tomó un cabrito y una ofrenda de grano, y ofreció todo sobre una piedra como sacrificio al Señor<br />. Y mientras Manoa y su esposa observaban, el Señor<br /> hizo algo asombroso:

Then Manoah took a young goat, together with the grain offering, and sacrificed it on a rock to the LORD. And the LORD did an amazing thing while Manoah and his wife watched:
20 cuando las llamas del altar se elevaron hacia el cielo, el ángel del Señor<br /> ascendió en medio del fuego. Al verlo, Manoa y su esposa se postraron rostro en tierra.

As the flame blazed up from the altar toward heaven, the angel of the LORD ascended in the flame. Seeing this, Manoah and his wife fell with their faces to the ground.
21 El ángel no volvió a aparecerse a Manoa y a su esposa. Entonces Manoa finalmente se dio cuenta de que era el ángel del Señor<br />,

When the angel of the LORD did not show himself again to Manoah and his wife, Manoah realized that it was the angel of the LORD.
22 y le dijo a su esposa:<br />—¡Seguramente moriremos, porque hemos visto a Dios!

“We are doomed to die!” he said to his wife. “We have seen God!”
23 Pero su esposa dijo:<br />—Si el Señor<br /> hubiera querido matarnos, no habría aceptado nuestra ofrenda quemada ni nuestra ofrenda de grano. No se nos hubiera aparecido, ni habría dicho algo tan maravilloso, ni hecho estos milagros.

But his wife answered, “If the LORD had meant to kill us, he would not have accepted a burnt offering and grain offering from our hands, nor shown us all these things or now told us this.”
24 Así que cuando nació su hijo, ella lo llamó Sansón. Y el Señor<br /> lo bendijo, y el niño creció.

The woman gave birth to a boy and named him Samson. He grew and the LORD blessed him,
25 Y el Espíritu del Señor<br /> comenzó a manifestarse en él mientras se encontraba viviendo en Mahne-dan, entre las ciudades de Zora y Estaol.

and the Spirit of the LORD began to stir him while he was in Mahaneh Dan, between Zorah and Eshtaol.
