1 Yúshì Yǐsèliè cóng dàn dào Bièshìbā , yǐjí zhù Jīliè dì de zhòngrén dōu chūlai , rútóng yī rén , jùjí zaì Mǐsībā Yēhéhuá miànqián .
1 Then all Israel from Dan to Beersheba and from the land of Gilead came together as one and assembled before the LORD in Mizpah.
2 Yǐsèliè mín de shǒulǐng , jiù shì gè zhīpaì de jūnzhǎng , dōu zhàn zaì shén bǎixìng de huì zhōng . ná dāo de bù bīng gōng yǒu sì shí wàn .
2 The leaders of all the people of the tribes of Israel took their places in the assembly of God’s people, four hundred thousand men armed with swords.
3 Yǐsèliè rén shàng dào Mǐsībā , Biànyǎmǐn rén dōu tīngjian le . Yǐsèliè rén shuō , qǐng nǐ jiāng zhè jiàn è shì de qíngyóu duì wǒmen shuō míng .
3 (The Benjamites heard that the Israelites had gone up to Mizpah.) Then the Israelites said, “Tell us how this awful thing happened.”
4 Nà Lìwèi rén , jiù shì beì haì zhī fùrén de zhàngfu , huídá shuō , wǒ hé wǒde qiè dào le Biànyǎmǐn de jī bǐ yà zhù sù .
4 So the Levite, the husband of the murdered woman, said, “I and my concubine came to Gibeah in Benjamin to spend the night.
5 Jī bǐ yà rén yè jiān qǐlai , wéi le wǒ zhù de fángzi , xiǎng yào shā wǒ , yòu jiāng wǒde qiè qiáng jiān zhì sǐ .
5 During the night the men of Gibeah came after me and surrounded the house, intending to kill me. They raped my concubine, and she died.
6 Wǒ jiù bǎ wǒ qiè de shī shēn qiē chéng kuaì zǐ , shǐ rén ná zhe chuánsòng Yǐsèliè dé wèi yè de quán dì , yīnwei jī bǐ yà rén zaì Yǐsèliè zhōng xíng le xiōng yín chǒu è de shì .
6 I took my concubine, cut her into pieces and sent one piece to each region of Israel’s inheritance, because they committed this lewd and outrageous act in Israel.
7 Nǐmen Yǐsèliè rén dōu dāng chóu huá shāngyì .
7 Now, all you Israelites, speak up and tell me what you have decided to do.”
8 Zhòng mín dōu qǐlai rútóng yī rén , shuō , wǒmen lián yī rén dōu bú huí zìjǐ zhàngpéng , zìjǐ fángwū qù .
8 All the men rose up together as one, saying, “None of us will go home. No, not one of us will return to his house.
9 Wǒmen xiàng jī bǐ yà rén bì zhèyàng xíng , zhào suǒ chè de qiā qù gōngjī tāmen .
9 But now this is what we’ll do to Gibeah: We’ll go up against it in the order decided by casting lots.
10 Wǒmen yào zaì Yǐsèliè gè zhīpaì zhōng , yī bǎi rén tiǎo qǔ shí rén , yī qiā rén tiǎo qǔ bǎi rén , yī wàn rén tiǎo qǔ qiā rén , wèi mín yùn liáng , dĕng dà zhòng dào le Biànyǎmǐn de jī bǐ yà , jiù zhào jī bǐ yà rén zaì Yǐsèliè zhōng suǒ xíng de chǒu shì zhēng fá tāmen .
10 We’ll take ten men out of every hundred from all the tribes of Israel, and a hundred from a thousand, and a thousand from ten thousand, to get provisions for the army. Then, when the army arrives at Gibeah in Benjamin, it can give them what they deserve for this outrageous act done in Israel.”
11 Yúshì Yǐsèliè zhòngrén bǐcǐ lián hé rútóng yī rén , jùjí gōngjī nà chéng .
11 So all the Israelites got together and united as one against the city.
12 Yǐsèliè zhòng zhīpaì dǎfa rén qù , wèn Biànyǎmǐn zhīpaì de gè jiā shuō , nǐmen zhōngjiān zĕnme zuò le zhèyàng de è shì ne .
12 The tribes of Israel sent messengers throughout the tribe of Benjamin, saying, “What about this awful crime that was committed among you?
13 Xiànzaì nǐmen yào jiāng jī bǐ yà de nàxiē fĕi tú jiāo chūlai , wǒmen hǎo zhìsǐ tāmen , cóng Yǐsèliè zhōng chúdiào zhè è . Biànyǎmǐn rén què bù kĕn tīng cóng tāmen dìxiōng Yǐsèliè rén de huà .
13 Now turn those wicked men of Gibeah over to us so that we may put them to death and purge the evil from Israel.” But the Benjamites would not listen to their fellow Israelites.
14 Biànyǎmǐn rén cóng tāmende gè chéng lǐ chūlai , jùjí dào le jī bǐ yà , yào yǔ Yǐsèliè rén dǎzhàng .
14 From their towns they came together at Gibeah to fight against the Israelites.
15 Nàshí Biànyǎmǐn rén cóng gè chéng lǐ diǎn chū ná dāo de , gòng yǒu èr wàn liù qiā . Lìngwaì hái yǒu jī bǐ yà rén diǎn chū qī bǎi jīng bīng .
15 At once the Benjamites mobilized twenty-six thousand swordsmen from their towns, in addition to seven hundred able young men from those living in Gibeah.
16 Zaì zhòng jūn zhī zhōng yǒu jiǎnxuǎn de qī bǎi jīng bīng , dōu shì zuǒshǒu biàn lì de , néng yòng jī xián shuǎi shí dá rén , haó fā bù chāi .
16 Among all these soldiers there were seven hundred select troops who were left-handed, each of whom could sling a stone at a hair and not miss.
17 Biànyǎmǐn rén zhī waì , diǎn chū Yǐsèliè rén ná dāo de , gōng yǒu sì shí wàn , dōu shì zhànshì .
17 Israel, apart from Benjamin, mustered four hundred thousand swordsmen, all of them fit for battle.
18 Yǐsèliè rén jiù qǐlai , dào Bótèlì qù qiú wèn shén shuō , wǒmen zhōngjiān shuí dāng shǒuxiān shàng qù yǔ Biànyǎmǐn rén zhēng zhàn ne . Yēhéhuá shuō , Yóudà dāng xiān shàng qù .
18 The Israelites went up to Bethel and inquired of God. They said, “Who of us is to go up first to fight against the Benjamites?” The LORD replied, “Judah shall go first.”
19 Yǐsèliè rén zǎochen qǐlai , duì zhe jī bǐ yà ān yíng .
19 The next morning the Israelites got up and pitched camp near Gibeah.
20 Yǐsèliè rén chūlai , yào yǔ Biànyǎmǐn rén dǎzhàng , jiù zaì jī bǐ yà qián bǎi zhèn .
20 The Israelites went out to fight the Benjamites and took up battle positions against them at Gibeah.
21 Biànyǎmǐn rén jiù cóng jī bǐ yà chūlai , dāng rì shā sǐ Yǐsèliè rén èr wàn èr qiā .
21 The Benjamites came out of Gibeah and cut down twenty-two thousand Israelites on the battlefield that day.
22 Yǐsèliè rén bǐcǐ fèn yǒng , réng zaì tóu yī rì bǎi zhèn de dìfang yòu bǎi zhèn .
22 But the Israelites encouraged one another and again took up their positions where they had stationed themselves the first day.
23 Wèi bǎi zhèn zhī xiān , Yǐsèliè rén shàng qù , zaì Yēhéhuá miànqián kū hào , zhídào wǎnshang , qiú wèn Yēhéhuá shuō , wǒmen zaì qù yǔ wǒmen dìxiōng Biànyǎmǐn rén dǎzhàng kĕyǐ bùkĕ yǐ . Yēhéhuá shuō , kĕyǐ shàng qù gōngjī tāmen .
23 The Israelites went up and wept before the LORD until evening, and they inquired of the LORD. They said, “Shall we go up again to fight against the Benjamites, our fellow Israelites?” The LORD answered, “Go up against them.”
24 Dì èr rì , Yǐsèliè rén jiù shàng qián gōngjī Biànyǎmǐn rén .
24 Then the Israelites drew near to Benjamin the second day.
25 Biànyǎmǐn rén yĕ zaì zhè rì cóng jī bǐ yà chūlai , yǔ Yǐsèliè rén jiē zhàn , yòu shā sǐ tāmen yī wàn bā qiā , dōu shì ná dāo de .
25 This time, when the Benjamites came out from Gibeah to oppose them, they cut down another eighteen thousand Israelites, all of them armed with swords.
26 Yǐsèliè zhòngrén jiù shàng dào Bótèlì , zuò zaì Yēhéhuá miànqián kū hào , dāng rì jìnshí zhídào wǎnshang . yòu zaì Yēhéhuá miànqián xiàn Fánjì hépíng ān jì .
26 Then all the Israelites, the whole army, went up to Bethel, and there they sat weeping before the LORD. They fasted that day until evening and presented burnt offerings and fellowship offerings to the LORD.
27 Nàshí , shén de yuē guì zaì nàli . Yàlún de sūnzi , YǐlìYàsā de érzi Fēiníhā shì lì zaì yuē guì qián . Yǐsèliè rén wèn Yēhéhuá shuō , wǒmen dāng zaì chū qù yǔ wǒmen dìxiōng Biànyǎmǐn rén dǎzhàng ne . háishì ba bīng ne . Yēhéhuá shuō , nǐmen dāng shàng qù , yīnwei míngrì wǒ bìjiāng tāmen jiāo zaì nǐmen shǒu zhōng .
27 And the Israelites inquired of the LORD. (In those days the ark of the covenant of God was there,
28
28 with Phinehas son of Eleazar, the son of Aaron, ministering before it.) They asked, “Shall we go up again to fight against the Benjamites, our fellow Israelites, or not?” The LORD responded, “Go, for tomorrow I will give them into your hands.”
29 Yǐsèliè rén zaì jī bǐ yà de sìwéi shè xià fú bīng .
29 Then Israel set an ambush around Gibeah.
30 Dì sān rì , Yǐsèliè rén yòu shàng qù gōngjī Biànyǎmǐn rén , zaì jī bǐ yà qián bǎi zhèn , yǔ qián liǎng cì yíyàng .
30 They went up against the Benjamites on the third day and took up positions against Gibeah as they had done before.
31 Biànyǎmǐn rén yĕ chūlai yíng dí , jiù beì yǐnyòu lí chéng . zaì tiánjiān liǎng tiaó lù shàng , yī tōng Bótèlì , yī tōng jī bǐ yà , xiàng qián liǎng cì , dòngshǒu shā sǐ Yǐsèliè rén yuē yǒu sān shí gè .
31 The Benjamites came out to meet them and were drawn away from the city. They began to inflict casualties on the Israelites as before, so that about thirty men fell in the open field and on the roads—the one leading to Bethel and the other to Gibeah.
32 Biànyǎmǐn rén shuō , tāmen réngjiù baì zaì wǒmen miànqián . dàn Yǐsèliè rén shuō , wǒmen bù rú taópǎo , yǐnyòu tāmen líkāi chéng dào lù shàng lái .
32 While the Benjamites were saying, “We are defeating them as before,” the Israelites were saying, “Let’s retreat and draw them away from the city to the roads.”
33 Yǐsèliè zhòngrén dōu qǐlai , zaì bā lì Tāmǎ bǎi zhèn , Yǐsèliè de fú bīng cóng mǎ lì Jiābā máifu de dìfang chōng shàng qián qù .
33 All the men of Israel moved from their places and took up positions at Baal Tamar, and the Israelite ambush charged out of its place on the west of Gibeah.
34 Yǒu Yǐsèliè rén zhōng de yī wàn jīng bīng , lái dào jī bǐ yà qián jiē zhàn , shì paì shén shì xiōngmĕng . Biànyǎmǐn rén què bù zhīdào zāihuò línjìn le .
34 Then ten thousand of Israel’s able young men made a frontal attack on Gibeah. The fighting was so heavy that the Benjamites did not realize how near disaster was.
35 Yēhéhuá shǐ Yǐsèliè rén shā baì Biànyǎmǐn rén . nà rì , Yǐsèliè rén shā sǐ Biànyǎmǐn rén èr wàn wǔ qiā yī bǎi , dōu shì ná dāo de .
35 The LORD defeated Benjamin before Israel, and on that day the Israelites struck down 25,100 Benjamites, all armed with swords.
36 Yúshì Biànyǎmǐn rén zhīdào zìjǐ baì le . xiān shì Yǐsèliè rén . yīnwei kào zhe zaì jī bǐ yà qián suǒ shè de fú bīng , jiù zaì Biànyǎmǐn rén miànqián sǎo baì .
36 Then the Benjamites saw that they were beaten. Now the men of Israel had given way before Benjamin, because they relied on the ambush they had set near Gibeah.
37 Fú bīng jímáng chuǎng jìn jī bǐ yà , yòng dāo shā sǐ quán chéng de rén .
37 Those who had been in ambush made a sudden dash into Gibeah, spread out and put the whole city to the sword.
38 Yǐsèliè rén yùxiān tóng fú bīng yuēdéng zaì chéng neì fàng huǒ , yǐ yān qì shàng téng wèi hào .
38 The Israelites had arranged with the ambush that they should send up a great cloud of smoke from the city,
39 Yǐsèliè rén lín tuì zhèn de shíhou , Biànyǎmǐn rén dòngshǒu shā sǐ Yǐsèliè rén , yuē yǒu sān shí gè , jiù shuō , tāmen réng xiàng qián cì beì wǒmen shā baì le .
39 and then the Israelites would counterattack. The Benjamites had begun to inflict casualties on the Israelites (about thirty), and they said, “We are defeating them as in the first battle.”
40 Dāng yān qì rú zhù cóng chéng zhōng shàng téng de shíhou , Biànyǎmǐn rén huí tóu guānkàn , jiàn quán chéng de yān qì chōng tiān .
40 But when the column of smoke began to rise from the city, the Benjamites turned and saw the whole city going up in smoke.
41 Yǐsèliè rén yòu zhuǎn shēn huí lái , Biànyǎmǐn rén jiù shén jīng huáng , yīnwei kànjian zāihuò líndào zìjǐ le .
41 Then the Israelites counterattacked, and the Benjamites were terrified, because they realized that disaster had come on them.
42 Tāmen zaì Yǐsèliè rén miànqián zhuǎn shēn wǎng kuàngyĕ taópǎo . Yǐsèliè rén zaì hòumian zhuī shā . nà cóng gè chéng lǐ chūlai de , yĕ dōu jiá gōng shā miè tāmen .
42 So they fled before the Israelites in the direction of the wilderness, but they could not escape the battle. And the Israelites who came out of the towns cut them down there.
43 Yǐsèliè rén wéirǎo Biànyǎmǐn rén , zhuīgǎn tāmen , zaì tāmen xiē jiǎo zhī chù , duì zhe rì chū zhī dì de jī bǐ yà jiàntà tāmen .
43 They surrounded the Benjamites, chased them and easily overran them in the vicinity of Gibeah on the east.
44 Biànyǎmǐn rén sǐ le de yǒu yī wàn bā qiā , dōu shì yǒng shì .
44 Eighteen thousand Benjamites fell, all of them valiant fighters.
45 Qíyú de rén zhuǎn shēn xiàng kuàngyĕ taópǎo , wǎng lín mén pán qù . Yǐsèliè rén zaì dàolù shàng shā le tāmen wǔ qiā rén , rú shí qǔ yí suì yíyàng , zhuī dào jī dūn yòu shā le tāmen èr qiā rén .
45 As they turned and fled toward the wilderness to the rock of Rimmon, the Israelites cut down five thousand men along the roads. They kept pressing after the Benjamites as far as Gidom and struck down two thousand more.
46 Nà rì Biànyǎmǐn sǐ le de gōng yǒu èr wàn wǔ qiā rén , dōu shì ná dāo de yǒng shì .
46 On that day twenty-five thousand Benjamite swordsmen fell, all of them valiant fighters.
47 Zhǐ shèngxia liù bǎi rén , zhuǎn shēn xiàng kuàngyĕ taópǎo , dào le lín mén pán , jiù zaì nàli zhù le sì gè yuè .
47 But six hundred of them turned and fled into the wilderness to the rock of Rimmon, where they stayed four months.
48 Yǐsèliè rén yòu zhuǎn dào Biànyǎmǐn dì , jiāng gè chéng de rén hé shēngchù , bìng yīqiè suǒ yùjiàn de , dōu yòng dāo shā jǐn , yòu fàng huǒshào le yīqiè chéngyì .
48 The men of Israel went back to Benjamin and put all the towns to the sword, including the animals and everything else they found. All the towns they came across they set on fire.
