Leviticus 11:38-47

KJV 38 But if any water be put upon the seed, and any part of their carcase fall thereon, it shall be unclean unto you. NIV 38 But if water has been put on the seed and a carcass falls on it, it is unclean for you. KJV 39 And if any beast, of which ye may eat, die; he that toucheth the carcase thereof shall be unclean until the even. NIV 39 “ ‘If an animal that you are allowed to eat dies, anyone who touches its carcass will be unclean till evening. KJV 40 And he that eateth of the carcase of it shall wash his clothes, and be unclean until the even: he also that beareth the carcase of it shall wash his clothes, and be unclean until the even. NIV 40 Anyone who eats some of its carcass must wash their clothes, and they will be unclean till evening. Anyone who picks up the carcass must wash their clothes, and they will be unclean till evening. KJV 41 And every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth shall be an abomination; it shall not be eaten. NIV 41 “ ‘Every creature that moves along the ground is to be regarded as unclean; it is not to be eaten. KJV 42 Whatsoever goeth upon the belly, and whatsoever goeth upon all four, or whatsoever hath more feet among all creeping things that creep upon the earth, them ye shall not eat; for they are an abomination. NIV 42 You are not to eat any creature that moves along the ground, whether it moves on its belly or walks on all fours or on many feet; it is unclean. KJV 43 Ye shall not make yourselves abominable with any creeping thing that creepeth, neither shall ye make yourselves unclean with them, that ye should be defiled thereby. NIV 43 Do not defile yourselves by any of these creatures. Do not make yourselves unclean by means of them or be made unclean by them. KJV 44 For I am the LORD your God: ye shall therefore sanctify yourselves, and ye shall be holy; for I am holy: neither shall ye defile yourselves with any manner of creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth. NIV 44 I am the LORD your God; consecrate yourselves and be holy, because I am holy. Do not make yourselves unclean by any creature that moves along the ground. KJV 45 For I am the LORD that bringeth you up out of the land of Egypt, to be your God: ye shall therefore be holy, for I am holy. NIV 45 I am the LORD, who brought you up out of Egypt to be your God; therefore be holy, because I am holy. KJV 46 This is the law of the beasts, and of the fowl, and of every living creature that moveth in the waters, and of every creature that creepeth upon the earth: NIV 46 “ ‘These are the regulations concerning animals, birds, every living thing that moves about in the water and every creature that moves along the ground. KJV 47 To make a difference between the unclean and the clean, and between the beast that may be eaten and the beast that may not be eaten. NIV 47 You must distinguish between the unclean and the clean, between living creatures that may be eaten and those that may not be eaten.’ ”
