1 El Señor<br /> le dijo a Moisés:

2 «Diles a Aarón y a sus hijos que sean muy cuidadosos con las ofrendas sagradas que los israelitas apartan para mí, a fin de que no deshonren mi santo nombre. Yo soy el Señor<br />.

3 Dales las siguientes instrucciones: en todas las generaciones futuras, si alguno de los descendientes de ustedes está ceremonialmente impuro cuando se acerque a las ofrendas sagradas que el pueblo de Israel le consagra al Señor<br />, esta persona tendrá que ser excluida de mi presencia. Yo soy el Señor<br />.

4 »Si algún descendiente de Aarón tiene una enfermedad de la piel<br /> o cualquier clase de secreción que lo haga ceremonialmente impuro, no se le permite comer de las ofrendas sagradas hasta que haya sido declarado puro. También quedará impuro al tocar un cadáver o al tener una emisión de semen

5 o al tocar un animal pequeño que sea impuro o al tocar a alguien que por algún motivo esté ceremonialmente impuro.

6 El que se haya contaminado en cualquiera de estas formas permanecerá impuro hasta el anochecer. No se le permite comer de las ofrendas sagradas hasta que se haya bañado con agua.

7 Cuando el sol se ponga, volverá a quedar ceremonialmente puro y podrá comer de las ofrendas sagradas, porque este es su alimento.

8 No se le permite comer un animal que haya muerto de muerte natural o haya sido despedazado por los animales salvajes, porque esto lo contaminará. Yo soy el Señor<br />.

9 »Los sacerdotes deberán seguir mis instrucciones cuidadosamente. De lo contrario, serán castigados por su pecado y morirán por desobedecer mis instrucciones. Yo soy el Señor<br /> quien los hace santos.

10 »A nadie fuera de la familia del sacerdote se le permite comer de las ofrendas sagradas. Ni siquiera los huéspedes ni los obreros contratados en el hogar del sacerdote podrán comerlas.

11 Sin embargo, si el sacerdote compra un esclavo, ese esclavo podrá comer de las ofrendas sagradas; y si sus esclavos tienen hijos, ellos también podrán comer de esas ofrendas.

12 Pero si la hija de un sacerdote se casa con alguien fuera de la familia de los sacerdotes, ella no podrá comer más de las ofrendas sagradas;

13 pero si queda viuda o se divorcia y no tiene hijos que la sostengan, y ella regresa a vivir a la casa de su padre como en su juventud, podrá volver a comer del alimento de su padre. Aparte de eso, nadie ajeno a la familia del sacerdote podrá comer de las ofrendas sagradas.

14 »Si una de esas personas come de las ofrendas sagradas sin darse cuenta, deberá pagarle al sacerdote por lo que comió, más un veinte por ciento adicional.

17 Ofrendas dignas e indignas<br />El Señor<br /> le dijo a Moisés:

18 «Da a Aarón, a sus hijos y a todos los israelitas estas instrucciones; son aplicables tanto para los israelitas de nacimiento como para los extranjeros que viven entre ustedes: si presentas una ofrenda quemada al Señor<br />, ya sea para cumplir un voto o como una ofrenda voluntaria,

19 serás<br /> aceptado sólo si la ofrenda es un animal macho sin defecto. Podrá ser un toro, un carnero o un chivo.

20 No presentes un animal con defectos, porque el Señor<br /> no lo aceptará a tu favor.

21 »Si presentas al Señor<br /> una ofrenda de paz de la manada o del rebaño, ya sea para cumplir un voto o como ofrenda voluntaria, deberás ofrecer un animal perfecto. No se permite que tenga ninguna clase de defecto.

22 No debes ofrecer un animal ciego, cojo o herido, o que tenga una verruga, llagas en la piel o costras. Nunca ofrecerás tales animales al Señor<br /> sobre el altar como ofrendas especiales.

23 Si un toro<br /> o un cordero tuviera una pata más larga o más corta que las demás, se podrá presentar como una ofrenda voluntaria, pero no como una ofrenda para cumplir un voto.

24 Tampoco presentarás al Señor<br /> un animal que tenga los testículos dañados o que esté castrado. No harás esto en tu propia tierra,

25 y no deberás aceptar animales así de los extranjeros y luego ofrecerlos como sacrificio a tu Dios. Dichos animales no serán aceptados a tu favor, porque están mutilados o tienen defectos».

26 El Señor<br /> le dijo a Moisés:

27 «Cuando nazca un ternero, un cordero o un cabrito, deberá permanecer al lado de su madre durante siete días. A partir del octavo día será aceptable como una ofrenda especial para el Señor<br />.

28 No matarás a una cría y a su madre en el mismo día, ya sea de la manada o del rebaño.

29 Cuando lleves una ofrenda de agradecimiento al Señor<br />, sacrifícala de la forma apropiada para que seas aceptado.

30 Cómete todo el animal sacrificado en el día que lo presentes. No dejes nada del animal para la mañana siguiente. Yo soy el Señor<br />.

31 »Debes guardar fielmente todos mis mandatos poniéndolos en práctica, porque yo soy el Señor<br />.

32 No deshonres mi santo nombre, porque demostraré mi santidad entre el pueblo de Israel. Yo soy el Señor<br /> quien te hace santo.

33 Yo fui el que te rescató de la tierra de Egipto para ser tu Dios. Yo soy el Señor<br />».

1 The LORD said to Moses,

2 “Tell Aaron and his sons to treat with respect the sacred offerings the Israelites consecrate to me, so they will not profane my holy name. I am the LORD.

3 “Say to them: ‘For the generations to come, if any of your descendants is ceremonially unclean and yet comes near the sacred offerings that the Israelites consecrate to the LORD, that person must be cut off from my presence. I am the LORD.

4 “ ‘If a descendant of Aaron has a defiling skin disease or a bodily discharge, he may not eat the sacred offerings until he is cleansed. He will also be unclean if he touches something defiled by a corpse or by anyone who has an emission of semen,

5 or if he touches any crawling thing that makes him unclean, or any person who makes him unclean, whatever the uncleanness may be.

6 The one who touches any such thing will be unclean till evening. He must not eat any of the sacred offerings unless he has bathed himself with water.

7 When the sun goes down, he will be clean, and after that he may eat the sacred offerings, for they are his food.

8 He must not eat anything found dead or torn by wild animals, and so become unclean through it. I am the LORD.

9 “ ‘The priests are to perform my service in such a way that they do not become guilty and die for treating it with contempt. I am the LORD, who makes them holy.

10 “ ‘No one outside a priest’s family may eat the sacred offering, nor may the guest of a priest or his hired worker eat it.

11 But if a priest buys a slave with money, or if slaves are born in his household, they may eat his food.

12 If a priest’s daughter marries anyone other than a priest, she may not eat any of the sacred contributions.

13 But if a priest’s daughter becomes a widow or is divorced, yet has no children, and she returns to live in her father’s household as in her youth, she may eat her father’s food. No unauthorized person, however, may eat it.

14 “ ‘Anyone who eats a sacred offering by mistake must make restitution to the priest for the offering and add a fifth of the value to it.

15 The priests must not desecrate the sacred offerings the Israelites present to the LORD

16 by allowing them to eat the sacred offerings and so bring upon them guilt requiring payment. I am the LORD, who makes them holy.’ ”

17 The LORD said to Moses,

18 “Speak to Aaron and his sons and to all the Israelites and say to them: ‘If any of you—whether an Israelite or a foreigner residing in Israel—presents a gift for a burnt offering to the LORD, either to fulfill a vow or as a freewill offering,

19 you must present a male without defect from the cattle, sheep or goats in order that it may be accepted on your behalf.

20 Do not bring anything with a defect, because it will not be accepted on your behalf.

21 When anyone brings from the herd or flock a fellowship offering to the LORD to fulfill a special vow or as a freewill offering, it must be without defect or blemish to be acceptable.

22 Do not offer to the LORD the blind, the injured or the maimed, or anything with warts or festering or running sores. Do not place any of these on the altar as a food offering presented to the LORD.

23 You may, however, present as a freewill offering an ox or a sheep that is deformed or stunted, but it will not be accepted in fulfillment of a vow.

24 You must not offer to the LORD an animal whose testicles are bruised, crushed, torn or cut. You must not do this in your own land,

25 and you must not accept such animals from the hand of a foreigner and offer them as the food of your God. They will not be accepted on your behalf, because they are deformed and have defects.’ ”

26 The LORD said to Moses,

27 “When a calf, a lamb or a goat is born, it is to remain with its mother for seven days. From the eighth day on, it will be acceptable as a food offering presented to the LORD.

28 Do not slaughter a cow or a sheep and its young on the same day.

29 “When you sacrifice a thank offering to the LORD, sacrifice it in such a way that it will be accepted on your behalf.

30 It must be eaten that same day; leave none of it till morning. I am the LORD.

31 “Keep my commands and follow them. I am the LORD.

32 Do not profane my holy name, for I must be acknowledged as holy by the Israelites. I am the LORD, who made you holy

33 and who brought you out of Egypt to be your God. I am the LORD.”
