1 Castigos por la desobediencia<br />El Señor<br /> le dijo a Moisés:

2 «Da las siguientes instrucciones al pueblo de Israel. Estas son aplicables tanto para los israelitas de nacimiento como para los extranjeros que viven en Israel: si alguno de ellos ofrece a sus hijos en sacrificio a Moloc, será ejecutado. Los miembros de la comunidad lo matarán a pedradas.

3 Me pondré en contra de esa persona y la eliminaré de la comunidad, porque al ofrecer a sus hijos a Moloc contaminó mi santuario y deshonró mi santo nombre.

4 Si los miembros de la comunidad hacen la vista gorda ante aquellos que ofrecen a sus hijos a Moloc, y se niegan a ejecutarlos,

5 yo mismo me pondré en contra de ellos y de sus familias y los eliminaré de la comunidad. Esto le sucederá a todos los que cometen prostitución espiritual al rendir culto a Moloc.

6 »También me pondré en contra de todos los que se entregan a la prostitución espiritual al confiar en médiums o en los que consultan a los espíritus de los muertos. Los eliminaré de la comunidad.

7 Así que consagren su vida para ser santos, porque yo soy el Señor<br /> su Dios.

8 Guarden todos mis decretos poniéndolos en práctica, porque yo soy el Señor<br /> quien los hace santos.

9 »Cualquiera que deshonre<br /> a su padre o a su madre será ejecutado. Esa persona es culpable de un delito de muerte.

10 »Si un hombre comete adulterio con la esposa de su vecino, tanto el hombre como la mujer que cometieron adulterio serán ejecutados.

11 »Si un hombre deshonra a su padre al tener sexo con una de las esposas de su padre, tanto el hombre como la mujer serán ejecutados, pues son culpables de un delito de muerte.

12 »Si un hombre tiene sexo con su nuera, los dos serán ejecutados. Han cometido una gran perversidad y son culpables de un delito de muerte.

13 »Si un hombre practica la homosexualidad, al tener relaciones sexuales con otro hombre como si fuera una mujer, ambos han cometido un acto detestable. Ambos serán ejecutados, pues son culpables de un delito de muerte.

14 »Si un hombre se casa con una mujer y también con la madre de ella, ha cometido un acto perverso. Tanto el hombre como ambas mujeres deberán morir quemados para eliminar semejante perversidad de entre ustedes.

15 »Si un hombre tiene sexo con un animal, será ejecutado, y deberán matar al animal.

16 »Si una mujer se entrega a un animal macho para tener relaciones sexuales con él, tanto ella como el animal serán ejecutados. Deberán matar a ambos, pues son culpables de un delito de muerte.

17 »Si un hombre se casa con su hermana, la hija de su padre o de su madre, y tiene relaciones sexuales con ella, es un acto vergonzoso. Serán excluidos públicamente de la comunidad. Puesto que el hombre ha deshonrado a su hermana, se le castigará por su pecado.

18 »Si un hombre tiene relaciones sexuales con una mujer durante su período menstrual, ambos serán excluidos de la comunidad, pues juntos expusieron la fuente de su flujo de sangre.

19 »No tengas relaciones sexuales con tu tía, ya sea hermana de tu madre o de tu padre. Eso deshonraría a un pariente cercano. Ambos son culpables y serán castigados por su pecado.

20 »Si un hombre tiene relaciones sexuales con la esposa de su tío, ha deshonrado a su tío. Tanto el hombre como la mujer serán castigados por su pecado, y morirán sin tener hijos.

21 »Si un hombre le quita la esposa a su hermano, es un acto de impureza. Ha deshonrado a su hermano, y la pareja culpable quedará sin descendencia.

22 »Debes guardar todos mis decretos y mis ordenanzas poniéndolos en práctica; de lo contrario, la tierra a la cual te llevo para que sea tu nuevo hogar te vomitará.

23 No vivas conforme a las costumbres de los pueblos que voy expulsando de delante de ti. Yo los detesto debido a que hacen estas cosas vergonzosas.

24 Sin embargo, a ustedes les he prometido: “Poseerás la tierra de ellos porque yo te la daré a ti como posesión, es una tierra donde fluyen la leche y la miel”. Yo soy el Señor<br /> tu Dios, quien te ha separado de las demás naciones.

25 »Por lo tanto, debes distinguir entre los animales ceremonialmente puros y los impuros, y entre las aves puras e impuras. No te contamines al comer alguno de estos animales impuros, aves o criaturas que corran por el suelo. Los he identificado como impuros para ti.

1 The LORD said to Moses,

2 “Say to the Israelites: ‘Any Israelite or any foreigner residing in Israel who sacrifices any of his children to Molek is to be put to death. The members of the community are to stone him.

3 I myself will set my face against him and will cut him off from his people; for by sacrificing his children to Molek, he has defiled my sanctuary and profaned my holy name.

4 If the members of the community close their eyes when that man sacrifices one of his children to Molek and if they fail to put him to death,

5 I myself will set my face against him and his family and will cut them off from their people together with all who follow him in prostituting themselves to Molek.

6 “ ‘I will set my face against anyone who turns to mediums and spiritists to prostitute themselves by following them, and I will cut them off from their people.

7 “ ‘Consecrate yourselves and be holy, because I am the LORD your God.

8 Keep my decrees and follow them. I am the LORD, who makes you holy.

9 “ ‘Anyone who curses their father or mother is to be put to death. Because they have cursed their father or mother, their blood will be on their own head.

10 “ ‘If a man commits adultery with another man’s wife—with the wife of his neighbor—both the adulterer and the adulteress are to be put to death.

11 “ ‘If a man has sexual relations with his father’s wife, he has dishonored his father. Both the man and the woman are to be put to death; their blood will be on their own heads.

12 “ ‘If a man has sexual relations with his daughter-in-law, both of them are to be put to death. What they have done is a perversion; their blood will be on their own heads.

13 “ ‘If a man has sexual relations with a man as one does with a woman, both of them have done what is detestable. They are to be put to death; their blood will be on their own heads.

14 “ ‘If a man marries both a woman and her mother, it is wicked. Both he and they must be burned in the fire, so that no wickedness will be among you.

15 “ ‘If a man has sexual relations with an animal, he is to be put to death, and you must kill the animal.

16 “ ‘If a woman approaches an animal to have sexual relations with it, kill both the woman and the animal. They are to be put to death; their blood will be on their own heads.

17 “ ‘If a man marries his sister, the daughter of either his father or his mother, and they have sexual relations, it is a disgrace. They are to be publicly removed from their people. He has dishonored his sister and will be held responsible.

18 “ ‘If a man has sexual relations with a woman during her monthly period, he has exposed the source of her flow, and she has also uncovered it. Both of them are to be cut off from their people.

19 “ ‘Do not have sexual relations with the sister of either your mother or your father, for that would dishonor a close relative; both of you would be held responsible.

20 “ ‘If a man has sexual relations with his aunt, he has dishonored his uncle. They will be held responsible; they will die childless.

21 “ ‘If a man marries his brother’s wife, it is an act of impurity; he has dishonored his brother. They will be childless.

22 “ ‘Keep all my decrees and laws and follow them, so that the land where I am bringing you to live may not vomit you out.

23 You must not live according to the customs of the nations I am going to drive out before you. Because they did all these things, I abhorred them.

24 But I said to you, “You will possess their land; I will give it to you as an inheritance, a land flowing with milk and honey.” I am the LORD your God, who has set you apart from the nations.

25 “ ‘You must therefore make a distinction between clean and unclean animals and between unclean and clean birds. Do not defile yourselves by any animal or bird or anything that moves along the ground—those that I have set apart as unclean for you.

26 You are to be holy to me because I, the LORD, am holy, and I have set you apart from the nations to be my own.

27 “ ‘A man or woman who is a medium or spiritist among you must be put to death. You are to stone them; their blood will be on their own heads.’ ”
