Luke 10:17-24

RSVA 17 The seventy returned with joy, saying, "Lord, even the demons are subject to us in your name!" NIV 17 The seventy-two returned with joy and said, “Lord, even the demons submit to us in your name.” RSVA 18 And he said to them, "I saw Satan fall like lightning from heaven. NIV 18 He replied, “I saw Satan fall like lightning from heaven. RSVA 19 Behold, I have given you authority to tread upon serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy; and nothing shall hurt you. NIV 19 I have given you authority to trample on snakes and scorpions and to overcome all the power of the enemy; nothing will harm you. RSVA 20 Nevertheless do not rejoice in this, that the spirits are subject to you; but rejoice that your names are written in heaven." NIV 20 However, do not rejoice that the spirits submit to you, but rejoice that your names are written in heaven.” RSVA 21 In that same hour he rejoiced in the Holy Spirit and said, "I thank thee, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that thou hast hidden these things from the wise and understanding and revealed them to babes; yea, Father, for such was thy gracious will. NIV 21 At that time Jesus, full of joy through the Holy Spirit, said, “I praise you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because you have hidden these things from the wise and learned, and revealed them to little children. Yes, Father, for this is what you were pleased to do. RSVA 22 All things have been delivered to me by my Father; and no one knows who the Son is except the Father, or who the Father is except the Son and any one to whom the Son chooses to reveal him." NIV 22 “All things have been committed to me by my Father. No one knows who the Son is except the Father, and no one knows who the Father is except the Son and those to whom the Son chooses to reveal him.” RSVA 23 Then turning to the disciples he said privately, "Blessed are the eyes which see what you see! NIV 23 Then he turned to his disciples and said privately, “Blessed are the eyes that see what you see. RSVA 24 For I tell you that many prophets and kings desired to see what you see, and did not see it, and to hear what you hear, and did not hear it." NIV 24 For I tell you that many prophets and kings wanted to see what you see but did not see it, and to hear what you hear but did not hear it.”
