Luke 12:17-27

KJV 17 And he thought within himself, saying, What shall I do, because I have no room where to bestow my fruits? NIV 17 He thought to himself, ‘What shall I do? I have no place to store my crops.’ KJV 18 And he said, This will I do: I will pull down my barns, and build greater; and there will I bestow all my fruits and my goods. NIV 18 “Then he said, ‘This is what I’ll do. I will tear down my barns and build bigger ones, and there I will store my surplus grain. KJV 19 And I will say to my soul, Soul, thou hast much goods laid up for many years; take thine ease, eat, drink, and be merry. NIV 19 And I’ll say to myself, “You have plenty of grain laid up for many years. Take life easy; eat, drink and be merry.” ’ KJV 20 But God said unto him, Thou fool, this night thy soul shall be required of thee: then whose shall those things be, which thou hast provided? NIV 20 “But God said to him, ‘You fool! This very night your life will be demanded from you. Then who will get what you have prepared for yourself?’ KJV 21 So is he that layeth up treasure for himself, and is not rich toward God. NIV 21 “This is how it will be with whoever stores up things for themselves but is not rich toward God.” KJV 22 And he said unto his disciples, Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat; neither for the body, what ye shall put on. NIV 22 Then Jesus said to his disciples: “Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat; or about your body, what you will wear. KJV 23 The life is more than meat, and the body is more than raiment. NIV 23 For life is more than food, and the body more than clothes. KJV 24 Consider the ravens: for they neither sow nor reap; which neither have storehouse nor barn; and God feedeth them: how much more are ye better than the fowls? NIV 24 Consider the ravens: They do not sow or reap, they have no storeroom or barn; yet God feeds them. And how much more valuable you are than birds! KJV 25 And which of you with taking thought can add to his stature one cubit? NIV 25 Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to your life? KJV 26 If ye then be not able to do that thing which is least, why take ye thought for the rest? NIV 26 Since you cannot do this very little thing, why do you worry about the rest? KJV 27 Consider the lilies how they grow: they toil not, they spin not; and yet I say unto you, that Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. NIV 27 “Consider how the wild flowers grow. They do not labor or spin. Yet I tell you, not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these.
