Luke 22:25-35

GNTA 25 Jesus said to them, "The kings of the pagans have power over their people, and the rulers claim the title "Friends of the People.' NIV 25 Jesus said to them, “The kings of the Gentiles lord it over them; and those who exercise authority over them call themselves Benefactors. GNTA 26 But this is not the way it is with you; rather, the greatest one among you must be like the youngest, and the leader must be like the servant. NIV 26 But you are not to be like that. Instead, the greatest among you should be like the youngest, and the one who rules like the one who serves. GNTA 27 Who is greater, the one who sits down to eat or the one who serves? The one who sits down, of course. But I am among you as one who serves. NIV 27 For who is greater, the one who is at the table or the one who serves? Is it not the one who is at the table? But I am among you as one who serves. GNTA 28 "You have stayed with me all through my trials; NIV 28 You are those who have stood by me in my trials. GNTA 29 and just as my Father has given me the right to rule, so I will give you the same right. NIV 29 And I confer on you a kingdom, just as my Father conferred one on me, GNTA 30 You will eat and drink at my table in my Kingdom, and you will sit on thrones to rule over the twelve tribes of Israel. NIV 30 so that you may eat and drink at my table in my kingdom and sit on thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel. GNTA 31 "Simon, Simon! Listen! Satan has received permission to test all of you, to separate the good from the bad, as a farmer separates the wheat from the chaff. NIV 31 “Simon, Simon, Satan has asked to sift all of you as wheat. GNTA 32 But I have prayed for you, Simon, that your faith will not fail. And when you turn back to me, you must strengthen your brothers." NIV 32 But I have prayed for you, Simon, that your faith may not fail. And when you have turned back, strengthen your brothers.” GNTA 33 Peter answered, "Lord, I am ready to go to prison with you and to die with you!" NIV 33 But he replied, “Lord, I am ready to go with you to prison and to death.” GNTA 34 "I tell you, Peter," Jesus said, "the rooster will not crow tonight until you have said three times that you do not know me." NIV 34 Jesus answered, “I tell you, Peter, before the rooster crows today, you will deny three times that you know me.” GNTA 35 Then Jesus asked his disciples, "When I sent you out that time without purse, bag, or shoes, did you lack anything?" "Not a thing," they answered. NIV 35 Then Jesus asked them, “When I sent you without purse, bag or sandals, did you lack anything?”“Nothing,” they answered.
