CEB 51 As the time approached when Jesus was to be taken up into heaven, he determined to go to Jerusalem. NRS 51 When the days drew near for him to be taken up, he set his face to go to Jerusalem. CEB 52 He sent messengers on ahead of him. Along the way, they entered a Samaritan village to prepare for his arrival, NRS 52 And he sent messengers ahead of him. CEB 57 As Jesus and his disciples traveled along the road, someone said to him, "I will follow you wherever you go." NRS 57 As they were going along the road, someone said to him, "I will follow you wherever you go." CEB 58 Jesus replied, "Foxes have dens and the birds in the sky have nests, but the Human One has no place to lay his head." NRS 58 And Jesus said to him, "Foxes have holes, and birds of the air have nests; but the Son of Man has nowhere to lay his head." CEB 59 Then Jesus said to someone else, "Follow me." He replied, "Lord, first let me go and bury my father." NRS 59 To another he said, "Follow me." But he said, "Lord, first let me go and bury my father." CEB 60 Jesus said to him, "Let the dead bury their own dead. But you go and spread the news of God's kingdom." NRS 60 But Jesus said to him, "Let the dead bury their own dead; but as for you, go and proclaim the kingdom of God." CEB 61 Someone else said to Jesus, "I will follow you, Lord, but first let me say good-bye to those in my house." NRS 61 Another said, "I will follow you, Lord; but let me first say farewell to those at my home." CEB 62 Jesus said to him, "No one who puts a hand on the plow and looks back is fit for God's kingdom." NRS 62 Jesus said to him, "No one who puts a hand to the plow and looks back is fit for the kingdom of God."
