CSB 41 Sitting across from the temple treasury, He watched how the crowd dropped money into the treasury. Many rich people were putting in large sums. NIV 41 Jesus sat down opposite the place where the offerings were put and watched the crowd putting their money into the temple treasury. Many rich people threw in large amounts. CSB 42 And a poor widow came and dropped in two tiny coins worth very little./ 64 of a daily wage, was the smallest Roman coin. NIV 42 But a poor widow came and put in two very small copper coins, worth only a few cents. CSB 43 Summoning His disciples, He said to them, "I assure you: This poor widow has put in more than all those giving to the temple treasury. NIV 43 Calling his disciples to him, Jesus said, “Truly I tell you, this poor widow has put more into the treasury than all the others. CSB 44 For they all gave out of their surplus, but she out of her poverty has put in everything she possessed-all she had to live on." NIV 44 They all gave out of their wealth; but she, out of her poverty, put in everything—all she had to live on.”
