A large crowd followed and pressed around him. CSB 25 A woman suffering from bleeding for 12 years NIV 25 And a woman was there who had been subject to bleeding for twelve years. CSB 26 had endured much under many doctors. She had spent everything she had and was not helped at all. On the contrary, she became worse. NIV 26 She had suffered a great deal under the care of many doctors and had spent all she had, yet instead of getting better she grew worse. CSB 27 Having heard about Jesus, she came behind Him in the crowd and touched His robe. NIV 27 When she heard about Jesus, she came up behind him in the crowd and touched his cloak, CSB 28 For she said, "If I can just touch His robes, I'll be made well!" " NIV 31 “You see the people crowding against you,” his disciples answered, “and yet you can ask, ‘Who touched me?’ ” CSB 32 So He was looking around to see who had done this. NIV 32 But Jesus kept looking around to see who had done it. CSB 33 Then the woman, knowing what had happened to her, came with fear and trembling, fell down before Him, and told Him the whole truth. NIV 33 Then the woman, knowing what had happened to her, came and fell at his feet and, trembling with fear, told him the whole truth. CSB 34 "Daughter," He said to her, "your faith has made you well. Go in peace and be free from your affliction." NIV 34 He said to her, “Daughter, your faith has healed you. Go in peace and be freed from your suffering.” CSB 35 While He was still speaking, people came from the synagogue leader's house and said, "Your daughter is dead. Why bother the Teacher any more?" NIV 35 While Jesus was still speaking, some people came from the house of Jairus, the synagogue leader. “Your daughter is dead,” they said. “Why bother the teacher anymore?” CSB 36 But when Jesus overheard what was said, He told the synagogue leader, "Don't be afraid. Only believe." NIV 36 Overhearing what they said, Jesus told him, “Don’t be afraid; just believe.” CSB 37 He did not let anyone accompany Him except Peter, James, and John, James' brother. NIV 37 He did not let anyone follow him except Peter, James and John the brother of James. CSB 38 They came to the leader's house, and He saw a commotion-people weeping and wailing loudly. NIV 38 When they came to the home of the synagogue leader, Jesus saw a commotion, with people crying and wailing loudly. CSB 39 He went in and said to them, "Why are you making a commotion and weeping? The child is not dead but asleep." NIV 39 He went in and said to them, “Why all this commotion and wailing? The child is not dead but asleep.” CSB 40 They started laughing at Him, but He put them all outside. He took the child's father, mother, and those who were with Him, and entered the place where the child was. NIV 40 But they laughed at him. After he put them all out, he took the child’s father and mother and the disciples who were with him, and went in where the child was. CSB 41 Then He took the child by the hand and said to her, " Talitha koum !" (which is translated, "Little girl, I say to you, get up!" ). NIV 41 He took her by the hand and said to her, “Talitha koum!” (which means “Little girl, I say to you, get up!”). CSB 42 Immediately the girl got up and began to walk. (She was 12 years old.) At this they were utterly astounded. NIV 42 Immediately the girl stood up and began to walk around (she was twelve years old). At this they were completely astonished.
