NKJV 1 And He said to them, "Assuredly, I say to you that there are some standing here who will not taste death till they see the kingdom of God present with power." NIV 1 And he said to them, “Truly I tell you, some who are standing here will not taste death before they see that the kingdom of God has come with power.” NKJV 2 Now after six days Jesus took Peter, James, and John, and led them up on a high mountain apart by themselves; and He was transfigured before them. NIV 2 After six days Jesus took Peter, James and John with him and led them up a high mountain, where they were all alone. There he was transfigured before them. NKJV 3 His clothes became shining, exceedingly white, like snow, such as no launderer on earth can whiten them. NIV 3 His clothes became dazzling white, whiter than anyone in the world could bleach them. NKJV 4 And Elijah appeared to them with Moses, and they were talking with Jesus. NIV 4 And there appeared before them Elijah and Moses, who were talking with Jesus. NKJV 5 Then Peter answered and said to Jesus, "Rabbi, it is good for us to be here; and let us make three tabernacles: one for You, one for Moses, and one for Elijah"-- NIV 5 Peter said to Jesus, “Rabbi, it is good for us to be here. Let us put up three shelters—one for you, one for Moses and one for Elijah.” NKJV 6 because he did not know what to say, for they were greatly afraid. NIV 6 (He did not know what to say, they were so frightened.) NKJV 7 And a cloud came and overshadowed them; and a voice came out of the cloud, saying, "This is My beloved Son. Hear Him!" NIV 7 Then a cloud appeared and covered them, and a voice came from the cloud: “This is my Son, whom I love. Listen to him!”
