1 Wǒ ér , yào liú xīn wǒ zhìhuì de huà yǔ , zhāi ĕr tīng wǒ cōngming de yán cí .
1 My son, pay attention to my wisdom, turn your ear to my words of insight,
2 Wéi yào shǐ nǐ jǐn shǒu móu lüè , zuǐchún bǎo cún zhīshi .
2 that you may maintain discretion and your lips may preserve knowledge.
3 Yīnwei yín fù de zuǐdī xià fēngmì , tāde kǒu bǐ yóu gèng huá .
3 For the lips of the adulterous woman drip honey, and her speech is smoother than oil;
4 Zhì zhōng què kǔ shì yīn , kuaì rú liǎng rèn de dāo .
4 but in the end she is bitter as gall, sharp as a double-edged sword.
5 Tāde jiǎo , xià rù sǐdì . tā jiǎobù , tā zhù yīnjiān .
5 Her feet go down to death; her steps lead straight to the grave.
6 Yǐzhì tā zhǎo bù zhe shēngmìng píngtǎn de dào . tāde lù biàn qiā bù déng , zìjǐ hái bù zhīdào .
6 She gives no thought to the way of life; her paths wander aimlessly, but she does not know it.
7 Zhòng zǐ a , xiànzaì yào tīng cóng wǒ , bùkĕ lí qì wǒ kǒu zhōng de huà .
7 Now then, my sons, listen to me; do not turn aside from what I say.
8 Nǐ suǒ xíng de dào yào lí tā yuǎn , bùkĕ jiù jìn tāde fáng mén .
8 Keep to a path far from her, do not go near the door of her house,
9 Kǒngpà jiāng nǐde zūnróng gĕi biérén , jiāng nǐde suìyuè gĕi cánrĕn de rén .
9 lest you lose your honor to others and your dignity to one who is cruel,
10 Kǒngpà waìrén mǎn dé nǐde lìliang , nǐ laólù dé lái de , guī rù waìrén de jiā .
10 lest strangers feast on your wealth and your toil enrich the house of another.
11 Zhōngjiǔ nǐ pí ròu hé shēntǐ xiāo huǐ , nǐ jiù bēitàn ,
11 At the end of your life you will groan, when your flesh and body are spent.
12 Shuō , wǒ zĕnme hèn è xùn huì , xīn zhōng miǎoshì zébeì ,
12 You will say, “How I hated discipline! How my heart spurned correction!
13 Yĕ bù tīng cóng wǒ shīfu de huà , yòu bù zhāi ĕr tīng nà jiàoxun wǒde rén .
13 I would not obey my teachers or turn my ear to my instructors.
14 Wǒ zaì shèng huì lǐ , jīhū luō zaì zhū bān è zhōng .
14 And I was soon in serious trouble in the assembly of God’s people.”
15 Nǐ yào hē zìjǐ chí zhōng de shuǐ , yǐn zìjǐ jǐng lǐ de huó shuǐ .
15 Drink water from your own cistern, running water from your own well.
16 Nǐde quányuán qǐ kĕ zhǎng yì zaì waì . nǐde hé shuǐ qǐ kĕ liú zaì jiē shang .
16 Should your springs overflow in the streets, your streams of water in the public squares?
17 Wéidú guī nǐ yī rén , bùkĕ yǔ waìrén tóng yòng .
17 Let them be yours alone, never to be shared with strangers.
18 Yào shǐ nǐde quányuán méng fú . yào xǐyuè nǐ yòunián suǒ qǔ de qī .
18 May your fountain be blessed, and may you rejoice in the wife of your youth.
19 Tā rú kĕaì de lù , kĕ xǐ de mǔ lù . yuàn tāde xiōnghuái , shǐ nǐ shí shí zhīzú . tāde aì qíng , shǐ nǐ chángcháng liànmù .
19 A loving doe, a graceful deer— may her breasts satisfy you always, may you ever be intoxicated with her love.
20 Wǒ ér , nǐ wèihé liànmù yín fù , wèihé bào waì nǚ de xiōnghuái .
20 Why, my son, be intoxicated with another man’s wife? Why embrace the bosom of a wayward woman?
21 Yīnwei rén suǒ xíng de dào , dōu zaì Yēhéhuá yǎnqián . tā yĕ xiū píng rén yīqiè de lù .
21 For your ways are in full view of the LORD, and he examines all your paths.
22 È rén bì beì zìjǐ de zuìniè zhuō zhù . tā bì beì zìjǐ de zuìè rú shéng suǒ chán rǎo .
22 The evil deeds of the wicked ensnare them; the cords of their sins hold them fast.
23 Tā yīn bù shòu xùn huì , jiù bì sǐwáng . yòu yīn yúmeì guo shén , bì zǒu chāi le lù .
23 For lack of discipline they will die, led astray by their own great folly.
