1 Yēhéhuá a , nǐ wèishénme zhàn zaì yuǎn chù . zaì huànnàn de shíhou , wèishénme yǐncáng .

Why, LORD, do you stand far off? Why do you hide yourself in times of trouble?
2 È rén zaì jiāo héng zhōng , bǎ kùnkǔ rén zhuī dé huǒ jí . yuàn tāmen xiàn zaì zìjǐ suǒ shè de jì móu lǐ .

In his arrogance the wicked man hunts down the weak, who are caught in the schemes he devises.
3 Yīnwei è rén yǐ xīnyuàn zì kuā . tān cái de beìqì Yēhéhuá , bìngqiĕ qīngmàn tā .

He boasts about the cravings of his heart; he blesses the greedy and reviles the LORD.
4 È rén miàn daì jiāoào , shuō , Yēhéhuá bì bú zhuī jiū . tā yīqiè suǒ xiǎng de , dōu yǐwéi méiyǒu shén .

In his pride the wicked man does not seek him; in all his thoughts there is no room for God.
5 Fán tā suǒ zuò de , shícháng wĕngù . nǐde shĕnpàn chāo guō tāde yǎn jiè . zhìyú tā yīqiè de dírén , tā dōu xiàng tāmen pēn qì .

His ways are always prosperous; your laws are rejected by him; he sneers at all his enemies.
6 Tā xīnli shuō , wǒ bì bú dòng yáo , shì shìdaì daì bú zāo zāinàn .

He says to himself, “Nothing will ever shake me.” He swears, “No one will ever do me harm.”
7 Tā mǎn kǒu shì zhòumà , guǐzhà , qīyē . shé dǐ shì dú haì jiān è .

His mouth is full of lies and threats; trouble and evil are under his tongue.
8 Tā zaì cūnzhuāng máifu dĕnghòu . tā zaì yǐn mì chù shāhaì wúgū rén . tāde yǎnjing kuītàn wú yǐ wú kào de rén .

He lies in wait near the villages; from ambush he murders the innocent. His eyes watch in secret for his victims;
9 Tā máifu zaì àn dì , rú shīzi cún zaì dòng zhong . tā máifu , yào lǔ qù kùnkǔ rén . Tālā wǎng , jiù bǎ kùnkǔ rén lǔ qù .

like a lion in cover he lies in wait. He lies in wait to catch the helpless; he catches the helpless and drags them off in his net.
10 Tā qū shēn cún fú , wú yǐ wú kào de rén , jiù dǎo zaì tā zhuǎ yá zhī xià ,

His victims are crushed, they collapse; they fall under his strength.
11 Tā xīnli shuō , shén jìng wàngjì le . tā yǎn miàn , yǒng bù guānkàn .

He says to himself, “God will never notice; he covers his face and never sees.”
12 Yēhéhuá a , qiú nǐ qǐlai . shén a , qiú nǐ jǔ shǒu . búyào wàngjì kùnkǔ rén .

Arise, LORD! Lift up your hand, O God. Do not forget the helpless.
13 È rén wèihé qīngmàn shén , xīnli shuō , nǐ bì bù zhuī jiū .

Why does the wicked man revile God? Why does he say to himself, “He won’t call me to account”?
14 Qíshí nǐ yǐjing guānkàn . yīnwei jiān èdú haì , nǐ dōu kànjian le , wéi yào yǐ shǒu shīxíng bàoyìng . wú yǐ wú kào de rén , bǎ zìjǐ jiāo tuō nǐ . nǐ xiàng lái shì bāngzhu gūér de .

But you, God, see the trouble of the afflicted; you consider their grief and take it in hand. The victims commit themselves to you; you are the helper of the fatherless.
15 Yuàn nǐ dǎduàn è rén de bǎngbì . zhìyú huaì rén , yuàn nǐ zhuī jiū tāde è , zhídào jìng jǐn .

Break the arm of the wicked man; call the evildoer to account for his wickedness that would not otherwise be found out.
16 Yēhéhuá yǒng yǒngyuǎn yuǎn wèi wáng . waìbāngrén cóng tāde dì yǐjing mièjué le .

The LORD is King for ever and ever; the nations will perish from his land.
17 Yēhéhuá a , qiābēi rén de xīnyuàn , nǐ zǎo yǐ zhīdào . nǐ bì yùbeì tāmende xīn , yĕ bì zè ĕr tīng tāmende qíqiú .

You, LORD, hear the desire of the afflicted; you encourage them, and you listen to their cry,
18 Wéi yào gĕi gūér hé shòu qīyē de rén shēnyuān , shǐ jiàng héng de rén bú zaì wēi xià tāmen .

defending the fatherless and the oppressed, so that mere earthly mortals will never again strike terror.
