1 Salmo 124<br />Cántico para los peregrinos que suben a Jerusalén. Salmo de David.<br />¿Qué habría ocurrido si el Señor<br /> no hubiera estado de nuestro lado?<br />Que todo Israel repita:

2 ¿Qué habría ocurrido si el Señor<br /> no hubiera estado de nuestro lado<br />cuando nos atacaron?

3 Nos habrían tragado vivos<br />en el ardor de su enojo.

4 Las aguas nos habrían envuelto;<br />un torrente nos habría inundado.

5 Así es, las impetuosas aguas de su furia<br />nos habrían ahogado hasta la vida misma.

6 ¡Alaben al Señor<br />,<br />quien no permitió que nos despedazaran con sus dientes!

7 Escapamos como un pájaro de la trampa del cazador;<br />¡la trampa se rompió y somos libres!

8 Nuestra ayuda viene del Señor<br />,<br />quien hizo el cielo y la tierra.

1 If the LORD had not been on our side— let Israel say—

2 if the LORD had not been on our side when people attacked us,

3 they would have swallowed us alive when their anger flared against us;

4 the flood would have engulfed us, the torrent would have swept over us,

5 the raging waters would have swept us away.

6 Praise be to the LORD, who has not let us be torn by their teeth.

7 We have escaped like a bird from the fowler’s snare; the snare has been broken, and we have escaped.

8 Our help is in the name of the LORD, the Maker of heaven and earth.
