Psalm 19

NAS 1 The heavens are telling of the glory of God; And their expanse is declaring the work of His hands. NIV 1 The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of his hands. NAS 2 Day to day pours forth speech, And night to night reveals knowledge. NIV 2 Day after day they pour forth speech; night after night they reveal knowledge. NAS 3 There is no speech, nor are there words; Their voice is not heard. NIV 3 They have no speech, they use no words; no sound is heard from them. NAS 4 Their line has gone out through all the earth, And their utterances to the end of the world. In them He has placed a tent for the sun, NIV 4 Yet their voice goes out into all the earth, their words to the ends of the world. In the heavens God has pitched a tent for the sun. NAS 5 Which is as a bridegroom coming out of his chamber; It rejoices as a strong man to run his course. NIV 5 It is like a bridegroom coming out of his chamber, like a champion rejoicing to run his course. NAS 6 Its rising is from one end of the heavens, And its circuit to the other end of them; And there is nothing hidden from its heat. NIV 6 It rises at one end of the heavens and makes its circuit to the other; nothing is deprived of its warmth. NAS 7 The law of the LORD is perfect, restoring the soul; The testimony of the LORD is sure, making wise the simple. NIV 7 The law of the LORD is perfect, refreshing the soul. The statutes of the LORD are trustworthy, making wise the simple. NAS 8 The precepts of the LORD are right, rejoicing the heart; The commandment of the LORD is pure, enlightening the eyes. NIV 8 The precepts of the LORD are right, giving joy to the heart. The commands of the LORD are radiant, giving light to the eyes. NAS 9 The fear of the LORD is clean, enduring forever; The judgments of the LORD are true; they are righteous altogether. NIV 9 The fear of the LORD is pure, enduring forever. The decrees of the LORD are firm, and all of them are righteous. NAS 10 They are more desirable than gold, yes, than much fine gold; Sweeter also than honey and the drippings of the honeycomb. NIV 10 They are more precious than gold, than much pure gold; they are sweeter than honey, than honey from the honeycomb. NAS 11 Moreover, by them Your servant is warned; In keeping them there is great reward. NIV 11 By them your servant is warned; in keeping them there is great reward. NAS 12 Who can discern his errors? Acquit me of hidden faults. NIV 12 But who can discern their own errors? Forgive my hidden faults. NAS 13 Also keep back Your servant from presumptuous sins; Let them not rule over me; Then I will be blameless, And I shall be acquitted of great transgression. NIV 13 Keep your servant also from willful sins; may they not rule over me. Then I will be blameless, innocent of great transgression. NAS 14 Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart Be acceptable in Your sight, O LORD , my rock and my Redeemer. NIV 14 May these words of my mouth and this meditation of my heart be pleasing in your sight, LORD, my Rock and my Redeemer.
