Psalms 26

1 Establish justice for me, LORD, because I have walked with integrity. I've trusted the LORD without wavering.

1 Vindicate me, LORD, for I have led a blameless life; I have trusted in the LORDand have not faltered.

2 Examine me, LORD; put me to the test! Purify my mind and my heart.

2 Test me, LORD, and try me, examine my heart and my mind;

3 Because your faithful love is right in front of me— I walk in your truth!

3 for I have always been mindful of your unfailing love and have lived in reliance on your faithfulness.

4 I don't spend time with people up to no good; I don't keep company with liars.

4 I do not sit with the deceitful, nor do I associate with hypocrites.

5 I detest the company of evildoers, and I don't sit with wicked people.

5 I abhor the assembly of evildoers and refuse to sit with the wicked.

6 I wash my hands—they are innocent! I walk all around your altar, LORD,

6 I wash my hands in innocence, and go about your altar, LORD,

7 proclaiming out loud my thanks, declaring all your wonderful deeds!

7 proclaiming aloud your praise and telling of all your wonderful deeds.

8 I love the beauty of your house, LORD; I love the place where your glory resides.

8 LORD, I love the house where you live, the place where your glory dwells.

9 Don't gather me up with the sinners, taking my life along with violent people

9 Do not take away my soul along with sinners, my life with those who are bloodthirsty,

10 in whose hands are evil schemes, whose strong hands are full of bribes.

10 in whose hands are wicked schemes, whose right hands are full of bribes.

11 But me? I walk with integrity. Save me! Have mercy on me!

11 I lead a blameless life; deliver me and be merciful to me.

12 My feet now stand on level ground. I will bless the LORD in the great congregation.

12 My feet stand on level ground; in the great congregation I will praise the LORD.
