1 Salmo 35<br />Salmo de David.<br />Oh Señor<br />, ponte en contra de los que se me oponen;<br />pelea contra los que luchan contra mí.

2 Ponte tu armadura y toma tu escudo;<br />prepárate para la batalla y ven en mi ayuda.

3 Levanta tu lanza y tu jabalina<br />contra los que me persiguen.<br />Quiero oírte decir:<br />«¡Yo te daré la victoria!».

4 Avergüenza y causa deshonra a los que tratan de matarme;<br />hazlos retroceder y humilla a los que quieren hacerme daño.

5 Sopla y espárcelos como paja en el viento,<br />un viento mandado por el ángel del Señor<br />.

6 Haz que su camino sea oscuro y resbaladizo,<br />y que el ángel del Señor<br /> los persiga.

7 Yo no les hice ningún mal, pero ellos me tendieron una trampa;<br />no les hice ningún mal, pero cavaron una fosa para atraparme.

8 Por eso, ¡que la ruina les llegue de repente!<br />¡Que queden atrapados en la trampa que me tendieron!<br />Que se destruyan en la fosa que cavaron para mí.

9 Entonces me alegraré en el Señor<br />;<br />estaré feliz porque él me rescata.

10 Con cada hueso de mi cuerpo lo alabaré:<br />«S<br />, ¿quién se compara contigo?<br />¿Quién otro rescata a los indefensos de las manos de los fuertes?<br />¿Quién otro protege a los indefensos y a los pobres de quienes les roban?».

11 Testigos maliciosos testifican en mi contra<br />y me acusan de crímenes que desconozco por completo.

12 Me pagan mal por bien<br />y estoy enfermo de desesperación.

13 Sin embargo, cuando ellos se enfermaban, yo me entristecía;<br />me afligía a mí mismo ayunando por ellos,<br />pero mis oraciones no tenían respuesta.

14 Estaba triste como si fueran mis amigos o mi familia,<br />como si me lamentara por mi propia madre.

15 Pero ahora que yo estoy en dificultades, ellos se ponen contentos;<br />con aires de triunfo se unen en mi contra.<br />Me ataca gente que ni siquiera conozco;<br />me calumnian sin cesar.

16 Se burlan de mí y me insultan;<br />me gruñen.

17 ¿Hasta cuándo, oh Señor, te quedarás observando sin actuar?<br />Rescátame de sus ataques feroces.<br />¡Protege mi vida de estos leones!

18 Después te daré gracias frente a la gran asamblea;<br />te alabaré delante de todo el pueblo.

19 No permitas que mis enemigos traicioneros se regodeen en mi derrota;<br />no permitas que los que me odian sin motivo se deleiten en mi tristeza.

20 No hablan de paz;<br />conspiran contra personas inocentes que no se meten con nadie.

21 Gritan: «¡Ajá!<br />¡Con nuestros ojos lo vimos hacerlo!».

22 Oh Señor<br />, tú sabes de todo esto;<br />no te quedes callado.<br />No me abandones ahora, oh Señor.

23 ¡Despierta! ¡Levántate en mi defensa!<br />Toma mi caso, Dios mío y Señor mío.

24 Declárame inocente, oh Señor<br /> mi Dios, porque tú haces justicia;<br />no permitas que mis enemigos se rían de mí en mis dificultades.

25 No les permitas decir: «¡Miren, conseguimos lo que queríamos!<br />¡Ahora lo comeremos vivo!».

26 Que sean humillados y avergonzados<br />los que se alegran de mis dificultades;<br />que sean cubiertos de vergüenza y de deshonra<br />los que triunfan sobre mí.

27 Pero dales mucha alegría a los que vinieron a defenderme;<br />que todo el tiempo digan: «¡Grande es el Señor<br />,<br />quien se deleita en bendecir a su siervo con paz!».

28 Entonces proclamaré tu justicia<br />y te alabaré todo el día.

1 Contend, LORD, with those who contend with me; fight against those who fight against me.

2 Take up shield and armor; arise and come to my aid.

3 Brandish spear and javelinagainst those who pursue me. Say to me, “I am your salvation.”

4 May those who seek my life be disgraced and put to shame; may those who plot my ruin be turned back in dismay.

5 May they be like chaff before the wind, with the angel of the LORD driving them away;

6 may their path be dark and slippery, with the angel of the LORD pursuing them.

7 Since they hid their net for me without cause and without cause dug a pit for me,

8 may ruin overtake them by surprise— may the net they hid entangle them, may they fall into the pit, to their ruin.

9 Then my soul will rejoice in the LORDand delight in his salvation.

10 My whole being will exclaim, “Who is like you, LORD? You rescue the poor from those too strong for them, the poor and needy from those who rob them.”

11 Ruthless witnesses come forward; they question me on things I know nothing about.

12 They repay me evil for good and leave me like one bereaved.

13 Yet when they were ill, I put on sackcloth and humbled myself with fasting. When my prayers returned to me unanswered,

14 I went about mourning as though for my friend or brother. I bowed my head in grief as though weeping for my mother.

15 But when I stumbled, they gathered in glee; assailants gathered against me without my knowledge. They slandered me without ceasing.

16 Like the ungodly they maliciously mocked;they gnashed their teeth at me.

17 How long, Lord, will you look on? Rescue me from their ravages, my precious life from these lions.

18 I will give you thanks in the great assembly; among the throngs I will praise you.

19 Do not let those gloat over me who are my enemies without cause; do not let those who hate me without reason maliciously wink the eye.

20 They do not speak peaceably, but devise false accusations against those who live quietly in the land.

21 They sneer at me and say, “Aha! Aha! With our own eyes we have seen it.”

22 LORD, you have seen this; do not be silent. Do not be far from me, Lord.

23 Awake, and rise to my defense! Contend for me, my God and Lord.

24 Vindicate me in your righteousness, LORD my God; do not let them gloat over me.

25 Do not let them think, “Aha, just what we wanted!” or say, “We have swallowed him up.”

26 May all who gloat over my distress be put to shame and confusion; may all who exalt themselves over me be clothed with shame and disgrace.

27 May those who delight in my vindication shout for joy and gladness; may they always say, “The LORD be exalted, who delights in the well-being of his servant.”

28 My tongue will proclaim your righteousness, your praises all day long.
