Psalm 47

CJB 1 For the leader. A psalm of the descendants of Korach: Clap your hands, all you peoples! Shout to God with cries of joy! NIV 1 Clap your hands, all you nations; shout to God with cries of joy. CJB 2 For ADONAI 'Elyon is awesome, a great king over all the earth. NIV 2 For the LORD Most High is awesome, the great King over all the earth. CJB 3 He makes peoples subject to us, puts nations under our feet. NIV 3 He subdued nations under us, peoples under our feet. CJB 4 He chooses our heritage for us, the pride of Ya'akov, whom he loves. (Selah) NIV 4 He chose our inheritance for us, the pride of Jacob, whom he loved. CJB 5 God goes up to shouts of acclaim, ADONAI to a blast on the shofar. NIV 5 God has ascended amid shouts of joy, the LORD amid the sounding of trumpets. CJB 6 Sing praises to God, sing praises! Sing praises to our king, sing praises! NIV 6 Sing praises to God, sing praises; sing praises to our King, sing praises. CJB 7 For God is king of all the earth; sing praises in a maskil. NIV 7 For God is the King of all the earth; sing to him a psalm of praise. CJB 8 God rules the nations; God sits on his holy throne. NIV 8 God reigns over the nations; God is seated on his holy throne. CJB 9 The leaders of the people gather together, the people of the God of Avraham; for the rulers of the earth belong to God, who is exalted on high. NIV 9 The nobles of the nations assemble as the people of the God of Abraham, for the kings of the earth belong to God; he is greatly exalted.
