Salmos 51

1 Tem misericórdia de mim, ó Deus,por teu amor;por tua grande compaixãoapaga as minhas transgressões.

1 Have mercy on me, O God, according to your unfailing love; according to your great compassion blot out my transgressions.

2 Lava-me de toda a minha culpae purifica-me do meu pecado.

2 Wash away all my iniquity and cleanse me from my sin.

3 Pois eu mesmo reconheço as minhas transgressões,e o meu pecado sempre me persegue.

3 For I know my transgressions, and my sin is always before me.

4 Contra ti, só contra ti, pequeie fiz o que tu reprovas,de modo que justa é a tua sentençae tens razão em condenar-me.

4 Against you, you only, have I sinned and done what is evil in your sight; so you are right in your verdict and justified when you judge.

5 Sei que sou pecador desde que nasci;sim, desde que me concebeu minha mãe.

5 Surely I was sinful at birth, sinful from the time my mother conceived me.

6 Sei que desejas a verdade no íntimo;e no coração me ensinas a sabedoria.

6 Yet you desired faithfulness even in the womb; you taught me wisdom in that secret place.

7 Purifica-me com hissopo, e ficarei puro;lava-me, e mais branco do que a neve serei.

7 Cleanse me with hyssop, and I will be clean; wash me, and I will be whiter than snow.

8 Faze-me ouvir de novo júbilo e alegria,e os ossos que esmagaste exultarão.

8 Let me hear joy and gladness; let the bones you have crushed rejoice.

9 Esconde o rosto dos meus pecadose apaga todas as minhas iniquidades.

9 Hide your face from my sins and blot out all my iniquity.

10 Cria em mim um coração puro, ó Deus,e renova dentro de mim um espírito estável.

10 Create in me a pure heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me.

11 Não me expulses da tua presençanem tires de mim o teu Santo Espírito.

11 Do not cast me from your presence or take your Holy Spirit from me.

12 Devolve-me a alegria da tua salvaçãoe sustenta-me com um espírito pronto a obedecer.

12 Restore to me the joy of your salvation and grant me a willing spirit, to sustain me.

13 Então ensinarei os teus caminhos aos transgressores,para que os pecadores se voltem para ti.

13 Then I will teach transgressors your ways, so that sinners will turn back to you.

14 Livra-me da culpa dos crimes de sangue,ó Deus, Deus da minha salvação!E a minha língua aclamará a tua justiça.

14 Deliver me from the guilt of bloodshed, O God, you who are God my Savior, and my tongue will sing of your righteousness.

15 Ó Senhor, dá palavras aos meus lábios,e a minha boca anunciará o teu louvor.

15 Open my lips, Lord, and my mouth will declare your praise.

16 Não te deleitas em sacrifíciosnem te agradas em holocaustos, senão eu os traria.

16 You do not delight in sacrifice, or I would bring it; you do not take pleasure in burnt offerings.

17 Os sacrifícios que agradam a Deus são um espírito quebrantado;um coração quebrantado e contrito,ó Deus, não desprezarás.

17 My sacrifice, O God, is a broken spirit; a broken and contrite heart you, God, will not despise.

18 Por tua boa vontade faze Sião prosperar;ergue os muros de Jerusalém.

18 May it please you to prosper Zion, to build up the walls of Jerusalem.

19 Então te agradarás dos sacrifícios sinceros,das ofertas queimadas e dos holocaustos;e novilhos serão oferecidos sobre o teu altar.

19 Then you will delight in the sacrifices of the righteous, in burnt offerings offered whole; then bulls will be offered on your altar.
