NKJV 1 A Psalm of Solomon. Give the king Your judgments, O God, And Your righteousness to the king's Son. NIV 1 Endow the king with your justice, O God, the royal son with your righteousness. NKJV 2 He will judge Your people with righteousness, And Your poor with justice. NIV 2 May he judge your people in righteousness, your afflicted ones with justice. NKJV 3 The mountains will bring peace to the people, And the little hills, by righteousness. NIV 3 May the mountains bring prosperity to the people, the hills the fruit of righteousness. NKJV 4 He will bring justice to the poor of the people; He will save the children of the needy, And will break in pieces the oppressor. NIV 4 May he defend the afflicted among the people and save the children of the needy; may he crush the oppressor. NKJV 5 They shall fear You As long as the sun and moon endure, Throughout all generations. NIV 5 May he endure as long as the sun, as long as the moon, through all generations. NKJV 6 He shall come down like rain upon the grass before mowing, Like showers that water the earth. NIV 6 May he be like rain falling on a mown field, like showers watering the earth. NKJV 7 In His days the righteous shall flourish, And abundance of peace, Until the moon is no more. NIV 7 In his days may the righteous flourish and prosperity abound till the moon is no more. NKJV 8 He shall have dominion also from sea to sea, And from the River to the ends of the earth. NIV 8 May he rule from sea to sea and from the River to the ends of the earth. NKJV 9 Those who dwell in the wilderness will bow before Him, And His enemies will lick the dust. NIV 9 May the desert tribes bow before him and his enemies lick the dust. NKJV 10 The kings of Tarshish and of the isles Will bring presents; The kings of Sheba and Seba Will offer gifts. NIV 10 May the kings of Tarshish and of distant shores bring tribute to him. May the kings of Sheba and Seba present him gifts. NKJV 11 Yes, all kings shall fall down before Him; All nations shall serve Him. NIV 11 May all kings bow down to him and all nations serve him. NKJV 12 For He will deliver the needy when he cries, The poor also, and him who has no helper. NIV 12 For he will deliver the needy who cry out, the afflicted who have no one to help. NKJV 13 He will spare the poor and needy, And will save the souls of the needy. NIV 13 He will take pity on the weak and the needy and save the needy from death. NKJV 14 He will redeem their life from oppression and violence; And precious shall be their blood in His sight. NIV 14 He will rescue them from oppression and violence, for precious is their blood in his sight. NKJV 15 And He shall live; And the gold of Sheba will be given to Him; Prayer also will be made for Him continually, And daily He shall be praised. NIV 15 Long may he live! May gold from Sheba be given him. May people ever pray for him and bless him all day long. NKJV 16 There will be an abundance of grain in the earth, On the top of the mountains; Its fruit shall wave like Lebanon; And those of the city shall flourish like grass of the earth. NIV 16 May grain abound throughout the land; on the tops of the hills may it sway. May the crops flourish like Lebanon and thrive like the grass of the field. NKJV 17 His name shall endure forever; His name shall continue as long as the sun. And men shall be blessed in Him; All nations shall call Him blessed. NIV 17 May his name endure forever; may it continue as long as the sun. Then all nations will be blessed through him,and they will call him blessed. NKJV 18 Blessed be the Lord God, the God of Israel, Who only does wondrous things! NIV 18 Praise be to the LORD God, the God of Israel, who alone does marvelous deeds. NKJV 19 And blessed be His glorious name forever! And let the whole earth be filled with His glory. Amen and Amen. NIV 19 Praise be to his glorious name forever; may the whole earth be filled with his glory. Amen and Amen. NKJV 20 The prayers of David the son of Jesse are ended.
