Psalm 77

CEB 1 I cry out loud to God— out loud to God so that he can hear me! NRS 1 I cry aloud to God, aloud to God, that he may hear me. CEB 2 During the day when I'm in trouble I look for my Lord. At night my hands are still outstretched and don't grow numb; my whole being refuses to be comforted. NRS 2 In the day of my trouble I seek the Lord; in the night my hand is stretched out without wearying; my soul refuses to be comforted. CEB 3 I remember God and I moan. I complain, and my spirit grows tired. Selah NRS 3 I think of God, and I moan; I meditate, and my spirit faints. (Selah) CEB 4 You've kept my eyelids from closing. I'm so upset I can't even speak. NRS 4 You keep my eyelids from closing; I am so troubled that I cannot speak. CEB 5 I think about days long past; I remember years that seem an eternity in the past. NRS 5 I consider the days of old, and remember the years of long ago. CEB 6 I meditate with my heart at night; I complain, and my spirit keeps searching: NRS 6 I commune with my heart in the night; I meditate and search my spirit: CEB 7 "Will my Lord reject me forever? Will he never be pleased again? NRS 7 "Will the Lord spurn forever, and never again be favorable? CEB 8 Has his faithful love come to a complete end? Is his promise over for future generations? NRS 8 Has his steadfast love ceased forever? Are his promises at an end for all time? CEB 9 Has God forgotten how to be gracious? Has he angrily stopped up his compassion?" Selah NRS 9 Has God forgotten to be gracious? Has he in anger shut up his compassion?" (Selah) CEB 10 It's my misfortune, I thought, that the strong hand of the Most High is different now. NRS 10 And I say, "It is my grief that the right hand of the Most High has changed." CEB 11 But I will remember the LORD's deeds; yes, I will remember your wondrous acts from times long past. NRS 11 I will call to mind the deeds of the Lord; I will remember your wonders of old. CEB 12 I will meditate on all your works; I will ponder your deeds. NRS 12 I will meditate on all your work, and muse on your mighty deeds. CEB 13 God, your way is holiness! Who is as great a god as you, God? NRS 13 Your way, O God, is holy. What god is so great as our God? CEB 14 You are the God who works wonders; you have demonstrated your strength among all peoples. NRS 14 You are the God who works wonders; you have displayed your might among the peoples. CEB 15 With your mighty arm you redeemed your people; redeemed the children of Jacob and Joseph. Selah NRS 15 With your strong arm you redeemed your people, the descendants of Jacob and Joseph. (Selah) CEB 16 The waters saw you, God— the waters saw you and reeled! Even the deep depths shook! NRS 16 When the waters saw you, O God, when the waters saw you, they were afraid; the very deep trembled. CEB 17 The clouds poured water, the skies cracked thunder; your arrows were flying all around! NRS 17 The clouds poured out water; the skies thundered; your arrows flashed on every side. CEB 18 The crash of your thunder was in the swirling storm; lightning lit up the whole world; the earth shook and quaked. NRS 18 The crash of your thunder was in the whirlwind; your lightnings lit up the world; the earth trembled and shook. CEB 19 Your way went straight through the sea; your pathways went right through the mighty waters. But your footprints left no trace! NRS 19 Your way was through the sea, your path, through the mighty waters; yet your footprints were unseen. CEB 20 You led your people like sheep under the care of Moses and Aaron. NRS 20 You led your people like a flock by the hand of Moses and Aaron.
