1 El Cordero rompe los primeros seis sellos<br />Mientras miraba, el Cordero rompió el primero de los siete sellos que había en el rollo.<br /> Entonces oí que uno de los cuatro seres vivientes decía con voz de trueno: «¡Ven!».

I watched as the Lamb opened the first of the seven seals. Then I heard one of the four living creatures say in a voice like thunder, “Come!”
2 Levanté la vista y vi que había un caballo blanco, y su jinete llevaba un arco, y se le colocó una corona sobre la cabeza. Salió cabalgando para ganar muchas batallas y obtener la victoria.

I looked, and there before me was a white horse! Its rider held a bow, and he was given a crown, and he rode out as a conqueror bent on conquest.
3 Cuando el Cordero rompió el segundo sello, oí que el segundo ser viviente decía: «¡Ven!».

When the Lamb opened the second seal, I heard the second living creature say, “Come!”
4 Entonces apareció otro caballo, de color rojo. Al jinete se le dio una gran espada y la autoridad para quitar la paz de la tierra. Y hubo guerra y masacre por todas partes.

Then another horse came out, a fiery red one. Its rider was given power to take peace from the earth and to make people kill each other. To him was given a large sword.
5 Cuando el Cordero rompió el tercer sello, oí que el tercer ser viviente decía: «¡Ven!». Levanté la vista y vi un caballo negro, y el jinete llevaba una balanza en la mano.

When the Lamb opened the third seal, I heard the third living creature say, “Come!” I looked, and there before me was a black horse! Its rider was holding a pair of scales in his hand.
6 Y oí que una voz que salió de entre los cuatro seres vivientes decía: «Un pan de trigo o tres panes de cebada costarán el salario de un día.<br /> Y no desperdicies<br /> el aceite de oliva y el vino».

Then I heard what sounded like a voice among the four living creatures, saying, “Two pounds of wheat for a day’s wages, and six pounds of barley for a day’s wages, and do not damage the oil and the wine!”
7 Cuando el Cordero rompió el cuarto sello, oí que el cuarto ser viviente decía: «¡Ven!».

When the Lamb opened the fourth seal, I heard the voice of the fourth living creature say, “Come!”
8 Levanté la vista y vi un caballo de color verde pálido. El jinete se llamaba Muerte y su compañero era la Tumba.<br /> A estos dos se les dio autoridad sobre una cuarta parte de la tierra, para matar con espada, con hambre y con enfermedad<br /> y con animales salvajes.

I looked, and there before me was a pale horse! Its rider was named Death, and Hades was following close behind him. They were given power over a fourth of the earth to kill by sword, famine and plague, and by the wild beasts of the earth.
9 Cuando el Cordero rompió el quinto sello, vi debajo del altar las almas de todos los que habían muerto como mártires por causa de la palabra de Dios y por haber sido fieles en su testimonio.

When he opened the fifth seal, I saw under the altar the souls of those who had been slain because of the word of God and the testimony they had maintained.
10 Ellos clamaban al Señor y decían: «Oh Señor Soberano, santo y verdadero, ¿cuánto tiempo hasta que juzgues a la gente de este mundo y tomes venganza de nuestra sangre por lo que nos han hecho?».

They called out in a loud voice, “How long, Sovereign Lord, holy and true, until you judge the inhabitants of the earth and avenge our blood?”
11 Entonces a cada uno de ellos se le dio una túnica blanca, y se les dijo que descansaran un poco más hasta que se completara el número de sus hermanos, los consiervos de Jesús que se unirían a ellos después de morir como mártires.

Then each of them was given a white robe, and they were told to wait a little longer, until the full number of their fellow servants, their brothers and sisters, were killed just as they had been.
12 Mientras yo miraba, el Cordero rompió el sexto sello, y hubo un gran terremoto. El sol se volvió tan oscuro como tela negra, y la luna se volvió tan roja como la sangre.

I watched as he opened the sixth seal. There was a great earthquake. The sun turned black like sackcloth made of goat hair, the whole moon turned blood red,
13 Entonces las estrellas del cielo cayeron sobre la tierra como los higos verdes que caen de un árbol cuando es sacudido por el fuerte viento.

and the stars in the sky fell to earth, as figs drop from a fig tree when shaken by a strong wind.
14 El cielo fue enrollado como un pergamino, y todas las montañas y las islas fueron movidas de su lugar.

The heavens receded like a scroll being rolled up, and every mountain and island was removed from its place.
15 Entonces todo el mundo —los reyes de la tierra, los gobernantes, los generales, los ricos, los poderosos, todo esclavo y hombre libre— se escondió en las cuevas y entre las rocas de las montañas.

Then the kings of the earth, the princes, the generals, the rich, the mighty, and everyone else, both slave and free, hid in caves and among the rocks of the mountains.
16 Y gritaban a las montañas y a las rocas: «Caigan sobre nosotros y escóndannos del rostro de aquel que se sienta en el trono, y de la ira del Cordero;

They called to the mountains and the rocks, “Fall on us and hide us from the face of him who sits on the throne and from the wrath of the Lamb!
17 porque ha llegado el gran día de su ira, ¿y quién podrá sobrevivir?».

For the great day of their wrath has come, and who can withstand it?”
