1 Wǒ qiĕ shuō , shén qìjué le tāde bǎixìng má . duànhū méiyǒu . yīnwei wǒ yĕ shì Yǐsèliè rén , Yàbólāhǎn de hòuyì , shǔ Biànyǎmǐn zhīpaì de .
1 I ask then: Did God reject his people? By no means! I am an Israelite myself, a descendant of Abraham, from the tribe of Benjamin.
2 Shén bìng mĕi yǒu qìjué tā yùxiān suǒ zhīdào de bǎixìng . nǐmen qǐbù xiǎodé jīng shàng lún dào Yǐlìyà shì zĕnme shuō de ne . tā zaì shén miànqián zĕnyàng kònggào Yǐsèliè rén , shuō ,
2 God did not reject his people, whom he foreknew. Don’t you know what Scripture says in the passage about Elijah—how he appealed to God against Israel:
3 Zhǔ a , tāmen shā le nǐde xiānzhī , chāi le nǐde jìtán , zhǐ shèngxia wǒ yī gèrén , tāmen hái yào xún suǒ wǒde méng .
3 “Lord, they have killed your prophets and torn down your altars; I am the only one left, and they are trying to kill me” ?
4 Shén de huí huà shì zĕnme shuō de ne . tā shuō , wǒ wéi zìjǐ liú xià qī qiā rén , shì wèicéng xiàng bā lì qūxī de .
4 And what was God’s answer to him? “I have reserved for myself seven thousand who have not bowed the knee to Baal.”
5 Rújīn yĕ shì zhèyàng , zhào zhe jiǎnxuǎn de ēndiǎn hái yǒu suǒ liú de yú shǔ .
5 So too, at the present time there is a remnant chosen by grace.
6 Jì shì chūyú ēndiǎn , jiù bú zaìhu xíngwéi . bú rán , ēndiǎn jiù bú shì ēndiǎn le .
6 And if by grace, then it cannot be based on works; if it were, grace would no longer be grace.
7 What then? What the people of Israel sought so earnestly they did not obtain. The elect among them did, but the others were hardened,
8 Rú jīng shàng suǒ jì , shén gĕi tāmen hūn mí de xīn , yǎnjing bùnéng kànjian , ĕrduo bùnéng tīngjian , zhídào jīnrì .
8 as it is written: “God gave them a spirit of stupor, eyes that could not see and ears that could not hear, to this very day.”
9 Dàwèi yĕ shuō , yuàn tāmende yánxí biàn wéi wǎngluó , biàn wéi jī kǎn , biàn wéi bàn jiǎo shí , zuò tāmende bàoyìng .
9 And David says: “May their table become a snare and a trap, a stumbling block and a retribution for them.
10 Yuàn tāmende yǎnjing hūn mĕng , bùdé kànjian . yuàn nǐ shícháng wān xià tāmende yào .
10 May their eyes be darkened so they cannot see, and their backs be bent forever.”
11 Wǒ qiĕ shuō , tāmen shījiǎo shì yào tāmen diēdǎo má . duànhū bú shì . fǎn dǎo yīn tāmende guō shī , jiùēn biàn líndào waìbāngrén , yào jīdòng tāmen fā fèn .
11 Again I ask: Did they stumble so as to fall beyond recovery? Not at all! Rather, because of their transgression, salvation has come to the Gentiles to make Israel envious.
12 Ruò tāmende guō shī , wéi tiān xià de fùzú , tāmende quē fá , wéi waìbāngrén de fùzú . hékuàng tāmende fēngmǎn ne .
12 But if their transgression means riches for the world, and their loss means riches for the Gentiles, how much greater riches will their full inclusion bring!
13 Wǒ duì nǐmen waìbāngrén shuō zhè huà . yīn wǒ shì waìbāngrén de shǐtú , suǒyǐ jìngzhòng wǒde zhífèn . ( jìngzhòng yuánwén zuò róngyào )
13 I am talking to you Gentiles. Inasmuch as I am the apostle to the Gentiles, I take pride in my ministry
14 Huòzhĕ kè yǐ jīdòng wǒ gǔròu zhī qéng fā fèn , hǎo jiù tāmen yī xiē rén .
14 in the hope that I may somehow arouse my own people to envy and save some of them.
15 Ruò tāmen beì diūqì , tiān xià jiù dé yǔ shén héhǎo , tāmen beì shōu nà , qǐbù shì sǐ ér fù shēng má .
15 For if their rejection brought reconciliation to the world, what will their acceptance be but life from the dead?
16 Suǒ xiàn de xīn miàn , ruò shì shèngjié , quán tuán yĕ jiù shèngjié le . shùgēn ruò shì shèngjié , shùzhī yĕ jiù shèngjié le .
16 If the part of the dough offered as firstfruits is holy, then the whole batch is holy; if the root is holy, so are the branches.
17 Ruò yǒu jǐ gēn zhīzǐ beì zhē xià lái , nǐ zhè yĕ gǎnlǎn dé jiē zaì qízhōng , yītóng dé zhe gǎnlǎn gēn de féi zhī .
17 If some of the branches have been broken off, and you, though a wild olive shoot, have been grafted in among the others and now share in the nourishing sap from the olive root,
18 Nǐ jiù bùkĕ xiàng jiù zhīzǐ kuākǒu , ruò shì kuākǒu , dàng zhīdào bú shì nǐ tuō zhe gēn , nǎi shì gēn tuō zhe nǐ .
18 do not consider yourself to be superior to those other branches. If you do, consider this: You do not support the root, but the root supports you.
19 Nǐ ruò shuō , nà zhīzǐ beì zhē xià lái , shì tè wéi jiào wǒ jiē shàng .
19 You will say then, “Branches were broken off so that I could be grafted in.”
20 Búcuò . tāmen yīnwei bú xìn , suǒyǐ beì zhé xià lái . nǐ yīnwei xìn , suǒyǐ lì dé zhù . nǐ bùkĕ zì gāo , fǎn yào jùpà .
20 Granted. But they were broken off because of unbelief, and you stand by faith. Do not be arrogant, but tremble.
21 Shén jì bú aìxī yuánlái de zhīzǐ , yĕ bì bú aìxī nǐ .
21 For if God did not spare the natural branches, he will not spare you either.
22 Kè jiàn shén de ēncí , hé yánlì . xiàng nà diēdǎo de rén , shì yánlì de . xiàng nǐ shì yǒu ēncí de , zhǐyào nǐ chángjiǔ zaì tāde ēncí lǐ . bú rán , nǐ yĕ yào beì kǎn xià lái .
22 Consider therefore the kindness and sternness of God: sternness to those who fell, but kindness to you, provided that you continue in his kindness. Otherwise, you also will be cut off.
23 Érqiĕ tāmen ruò bú shì chángjiǔ bú xìn , réng yào beì jiē shàng . yīnwei shén nénggòu bǎ tāmen cóng xīn jiē shàng .
23 And if they do not persist in unbelief, they will be grafted in, for God is able to graft them in again.
24 Nǐ shì cóng nà tiān shēng de yĕ gǎnlǎn shàng kǎn xià lái de , shàngqiĕ nì zhe xìng dé jiē zaì hǎo gǎnlǎn shàng , hékuàng zhè bĕn shù de zhīzǐ , yào jiē zaì bĕn shù shàng ne .
24 After all, if you were cut out of an olive tree that is wild by nature, and contrary to nature were grafted into a cultivated olive tree, how much more readily will these, the natural branches, be grafted into their own olive tree!
25 Dìxiōng men , wǒ bú yuànyì nǐmen bú zhīdào zhè àomì , ( kǒngpà nǐmen zì yǐwéi cōngming ) jiù shì Yǐsèliè rén yǒu jǐ fēn shì yìng xīn de , dĕng dào waìbāngrén de shùmù tiān mǎn le .
25 I do not want you to be ignorant of this mystery, brothers and sisters, so that you may not be conceited: Israel has experienced a hardening in part until the full number of the Gentiles has come in,
26 Yúshì Yǐsèliè quán jiā dōu yào déjiù , rú jīng shàng suǒ jì , bì yǒu yī wèi jiù zhǔ , cóng Xī \'ān chūlai , yào xiāo chú Yǎgè jiā de yīqiè zuìè .
26 and in this way all Israel will be saved. As it is written: “The deliverer will come from Zion; he will turn godlessness away from Jacob.
27 Yòu shuō , wǒ chú qù tāmen zuì de shíhou , zhè jiù shì wǒ yǔ tāmen suǒ lì de yuē .
27 And this is my covenant with them when I take away their sins.”
28 Jiù zhe fúyin shuō , tāmen wéi nǐmen de yuángù shì chóudí . jiù zhe jiǎnxuǎn shuō , tāmen wéi lièzǔ de yuángù shì mĕng aì de .
28 As far as the gospel is concerned, they are enemies for your sake; but as far as election is concerned, they are loved on account of the patriarchs,
29 Yīnwei shén de ēncì hé xuǎn zhào , shì méiyǒu hòuhuǐ de .
29 for God’s gifts and his call are irrevocable.
30 Nǐmen cóng qián bú shùnfú shén , rújīn yīn tāmende bú shùnfú , nǐmen dǎo mĕng le liánxù .
30 Just as you who were at one time disobedient to God have now received mercy as a result of their disobedience,
31 Zhèyàng , tāmen yĕ shì bú shùnfú , jiào tāmen yīn zhe shī gĕi nǐmen de liánxù , xiànzaì yĕ jiù mĕng liánxù .
31 so they too have now become disobedient in order that they too may now receive mercy as a result of God’s mercy to you.
32 Yīnwei shén jiāng zhòngrén dōu quān zaì bú shùnfú zhī zhòng , tèyì yào liánxù zhòngrén .
32 For God has bound everyone over to disobedience so that he may have mercy on them all.
33 Shēn zāi , shén fēngfù de zhìhuì hé zhīshi . tāde pànduàn , hé qí nán cè , tāde zōng jī , hé qí nán xún ,
33 Oh, the depth of the riches of the wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable his judgments, and his paths beyond tracing out!
34 Shuí zhīdào zhǔ de xīn , shuí zuò guō tāde móu shì ne ,
34 “Who has known the mind of the Lord? Or who has been his counselor?”
35 Shuí shì xiān gĕi le tā , shǐ tā hòulái chánghuán ne .
35 “Who has ever given to God, that God should repay them?”
36 Yīnwei wàn yǒu dōu shì bĕn yú tā , yǐkào tā , guīyú tā . yuàn róngyào guī gĕi tā , zhídào yǒngyuǎn . āmén .
36 For from him and through him and for him are all things. To him be the glory forever! Amen.
