Romans 12:9-21

NLT 9 Don’t just pretend to love others. Really love them. Hate what is wrong. Hold tightly to what is good. NIV 9 Love must be sincere. Hate what is evil; cling to what is good. NLT 10 Love each other with genuine affection, and take delight in honoring each other. NIV 10 Be devoted to one another in love. Honor one another above yourselves. NLT 11 Never be lazy, but work hard and serve the Lord enthusiastically. NIV 11 Never be lacking in zeal, but keep your spiritual fervor, serving the Lord. NLT 12 Rejoice in our confident hope. Be patient in trouble, and keep on praying. NIV 12 Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer. NLT 13 When God’s people are in need, be ready to help them. Always be eager to practice hospitality. NIV 13 Share with the Lord’s people who are in need. Practice hospitality. NLT 14 Bless those who persecute you. Don’t curse them; pray that God will bless them. NIV 14 Bless those who persecute you; bless and do not curse. NLT 15 Be happy with those who are happy, and weep with those who weep. NIV 15 Rejoice with those who rejoice; mourn with those who mourn. NLT 16 Live in harmony with each other. Don’t be too proud to enjoy the company of ordinary people. And don’t think you know it all! NIV 16 Live in harmony with one another. Do not be proud, but be willing to associate with people of low position. Do not be conceited. NLT 17 Never pay back evil with more evil. Do things in such a way that everyone can see you are honorable. NIV 17 Do not repay anyone evil for evil. Be careful to do what is right in the eyes of everyone. NLT 18 Do all that you can to live in peace with everyone. NIV 18 If it is possible, as far as it depends on you, live at peace with everyone. NLT 19 Dear friends, never take revenge. Leave that to the righteous anger of God. For the Scriptures say, “I will take revenge; I will pay them back,” says the LORD . NIV 19 Do not take revenge, my dear friends, but leave room for God’s wrath, for it is written: “It is mine to avenge; I will repay,” says the Lord. NLT 20 Instead, “If your enemies are hungry, feed them. If they are thirsty, give them something to drink. In doing this, you will heap burning coals of shame on their heads.” NIV 20 On the contrary: “If your enemy is hungry, feed him; if he is thirsty, give him something to drink. In doing this, you will heap burning coals on his head.” NLT 21 Don’t let evil conquer you, but conquer evil by doing good. NIV 21 Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.
