Romans 1:1-15

KJV 1 Paul, a servant of Jesus Christ, called to be an apostle, separated unto the gospel of God, NIV 1 Paul, a servant of Christ Jesus, called to be an apostle and set apart for the gospel of God— KJV 2 (Which he had promised afore by his prophets in the holy scriptures,) NIV 2 the gospel he promised beforehand through his prophets in the Holy Scriptures KJV 3 Concerning his Son Jesus Christ our Lord, which was made of the seed of David according to the flesh; NIV 3 regarding his Son, who as to his earthly life was a descendant of David, KJV 4 And declared to be the Son of God with power, according to the spirit of holiness, by the resurrection from the dead: NIV 4 and who through the Spirit of holiness was appointed the Son of God in power by his resurrection from the dead: Jesus Christ our Lord. KJV 5 By whom we have received grace and apostleship, for obedience to the faith among all nations, for his name: NIV 5 Through him we received grace and apostleship to call all the Gentiles to the obedience that comes from faith for his name’s sake. KJV 6 Among whom are ye also the called of Jesus Christ: NIV 6 And you also are among those Gentiles who are called to belong to Jesus Christ. KJV 7 To all that be in Rome, beloved of God, called to be saints: Grace to you and peace from God our Father, and the Lord Jesus Christ. NIV 7 To all in Rome who are loved by God and called to be his holy people: Grace and peace to you from God our Father and from the Lord Jesus Christ. KJV 8 First, I thank my God through Jesus Christ for you all, that your faith is spoken of throughout the whole world. NIV 8 First, I thank my God through Jesus Christ for all of you, because your faith is being reported all over the world. KJV 9 For God is my witness, whom I serve with my spirit in the gospel of his Son, that without ceasing I make mention of you always in my prayers; NIV 9 God, whom I serve in my spirit in preaching the gospel of his Son, is my witness how constantly I remember you KJV 10 Making request, if by any means now at length I might have a prosperous journey by the will of God to come unto you. NIV 10 in my prayers at all times; and I pray that now at last by God’s will the way may be opened for me to come to you. KJV 11 For I long to see you, that I may impart unto you some spiritual gift, to the end ye may be established; NIV 11 I long to see you so that I may impart to you some spiritual gift to make you strong— KJV 12 That is, that I may be comforted together with you by the mutual faith both of you and me. NIV 12 that is, that you and I may be mutually encouraged by each other’s faith. KJV 13 Now I would not have you ignorant, brethren, that oftentimes I purposed to come unto you, (but was let hitherto,) that I might have some fruit among you also, even as among other Gentiles. NIV 13 I do not want you to be unaware, brothers and sisters, that I planned many times to come to you (but have been prevented from doing so until now) in order that I might have a harvest among you, just as I have had among the other Gentiles. KJV 14 I am debtor both to the Greeks, and to the Barbarians; both to the wise, and to the unwise. NIV 14 I am obligated both to Greeks and non-Greeks, both to the wise and the foolish. KJV 15 So, as much as in me is, I am ready to preach the gospel to you that are at Rome also. NIV 15 That is why I am so eager to preach the gospel also to you who are in Rome.
