Romans 5:1-8

NRS 1 Therefore, since we are justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, NIV 1 Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, NRS 2 through whom we have obtained access to this grace in which we stand; and we boast in our hope of sharing the glory of God. NIV 2 through whom we have gained access by faith into this grace in which we now stand. And we boast in the hope of the glory of God. NRS 3 And not only that, but we also boast in our sufferings, knowing that suffering produces endurance, NIV 3 Not only so, but we also glory in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; NRS 4 and endurance produces character, and character produces hope, NIV 4 perseverance, character; and character, hope. NRS 5 and hope does not disappoint us, because God's love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit that has been given to us. NIV 5 And hope does not put us to shame, because God’s love has been poured out into our hearts through the Holy Spirit, who has been given to us. NRS 6 For while we were still weak, at the right time Christ died for the ungodly. NIV 6 You see, at just the right time, when we were still powerless, Christ died for the ungodly. NRS 7 Indeed, rarely will anyone die for a righteous person—though perhaps for a good person someone might actually dare to die. NIV 7 Very rarely will anyone die for a righteous person, though for a good person someone might possibly dare to die. NRS 8 But God proves his love for us in that while we still were sinners Christ died for us. NIV 8 But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.
