44 El segundo ayudante de Hemán fue Etán, quien pertenecía al clan de Merari. La genealogía de Etán fue seguida a través de Quisi, Abdi, Maluc,

45 Hasabías, Amasías, Hilcías,

46 Amsi, Bani, Semer,

47 Mahli, Musi, Merari y Leví.

48 Sus hermanos levitas fueron asignados a otras tareas en el tabernáculo, la casa de Dios.

49 Los descendientes de Aarón
Solamente Aarón y sus descendientes servían como sacerdotes. Presentaban las ofrendas en el altar de las ofrendas quemadas y en el altar del incienso, y llevaban a cabo todas las demás tareas relacionadas con el Lugar Santísimo. Hacían expiación por Israel al hacer todo lo que Moisés, el siervo de Dios, les había ordenado.

50 Los descendientes de Aarón fueron: Eleazar, Finees, Abisúa,

51 Buqui, Uzi, Zeraías,

52 Meraiot, Amarías, Ahitob,

53 Sadoc y Ahimaas.

INTRODUCTION TO 1 CHRONICLES 6

This chapter begins with the fathers and heads of the tribe of Levi, 1Ch 6:1-3, and reckons up the high priests in the line of Eleazar, to the Babylonish captivity, 1Ch 6:4-15 gives an account of the families of the sons of Levi, 1Ch 6:16-30 and of those Levites that were employed as singers, and in other ministrations in the sanctuary in the times of David and Solomon, 1Ch 6:31-49, then follows a repetition of the sons of Aaron in the line of Eleazar, to the said times, 1Ch 6:50-53, and a recital of the dwelling places of the Levites in the several tribes, 1Ch 6:54-81.
