11Whoeverbelieves that Jesus is the Christ is 2born of God, and whoeverloves the Father3loves the child born of Him.

4By this we know that 5we love the children of God, when we loveGod and observe His commandments.

Who is the one who overcomes the world, but he who 11believes that Jesus is the Son of God?

This is the One who came12by water and blood, JesusChrist; not with the wateronly, but with the water and with the blood. It is 13the Spirit who testifies, because the Spirit is the truth.
