Psalms 91

1 (90-1) <The praise of a canticle for David.> He that dwelleth in the aid of the most High, shall abide under the protection of the God of Jacob.

2 (90-2) He shall say to the Lord: Thou art my protector, and my refuge: my God, in him will I trust.

3 (90-3) For he hath delivered me from the snare of the hunters: and from the sharp word.

4 (90-4) He will overshadow thee with his shoulders: and under his wings thou shalt trust.

5 (90-5) His truth shall compass thee with a shield: thou shalt not be afraid of the terror of the night.

6 (90-6) Of the arrow that flieth in the day, of the business that walketh about in the dark: of invasion, or of the noonday devil.

7 (90-7) A thousand shall fall at thy side, and ten thousand at thy right hand: but it shall not come nigh thee.

8 (90-8) But thou shalt consider with thy eyes: and shalt see the reward of the wicked.

9 (90-9) Because thou, O Lord, art my hope: thou hast made the most High thy refuge.

10 (90-10) There shall no evil come to thee: nor shall the scourge come near thy dwelling.

11 (90-11) For he hath given his angels charge over thee; to keep thee in all thy ways.

12 (90-12) In their hands they shall bear thee up: lest thou dash thy foot against a stone.

13 (90-13) Thou shalt walk upon the asp and the basilisk: and thou shalt trample under foot the lion and the dragon.

14 (90-14) Because he hoped in me I will deliver him: I will protect him because he hath known my name.

15 (90-15) He shall cry to me, and I will hear him: I am with him in tribulation, I will deliver him, and I will glorify him.

16 (90-16) I will fill him with length of days; and I will shew him my salvation.

Psalms 92

1 (91-1) <A psalm of a canticle on the sabbath day.> (91-2) It is good to give praise to the Lord: and to sing to thy name, O most High.

2 (91-3) To shew forth thy mercy in the morning, and thy truth in the night:

3 (91-4) Upon an instrument of ten strings, upon the psaltery: with a canticle upon the harp.

4 (91-5) For thou hast given me, O Lord, a delight in thy doings: and in the works of thy hands I shall rejoice.

5 (91-6) O Lord, how great are thy works! thy thoughts are exceeding deep.

6 (91-7) The senseless man shall not know: nor will the fool understand these things.

7 (91-8) When the wicked shall spring up as grass: and all the workers of iniquity shall appear: That they may perish for ever and ever:

8 (91-9) But thou, O Lord, art most high for evermore.

9 (91-10) For behold thy enemies, O lord, for behold thy enemies shall perish: and all the workers of iniquity shall be scattered.

10 (91-11) But my horn shall be exalted like that of the unicorn: and my old age in plentiful mercy.

11 (91-12) My eye also hath looked down upon my enemies: and my ear shall hear of the downfall of the malignant that rise up against me.

12 (91-13) The just shall flourish like the palm tree: he shall grow up like the cedar of Libanus.

13 (91-14) They that are planted in the house of the Lord shall flourish in the courts of the house of our God.

14 (91-15) They shall still increase in a fruitful old age: and shall be well treated,

15 (91-16) That they may shew, That the Lord our God is righteous, and there is no iniquity in him.

Psalms 93

1 (92-1) The Lord hath reigned, he is clothed with beauty: the Lord is clothed with strength, and hath girded himself. For he hath established the world which shall not be moved.

2 (92-2) My throne is prepared from of old: thou art from everlasting.

3 (92-3) The floods have lifted up, O Lord: the floods have lifted up their voice. The floods have lifted up their waves,

4 (92-4) With the noise of many waters. Wonderful are the surges of the sea: wonderful is the Lord on high.

5 (92-5) Thy testimonies are become exceedingly credible: holiness becometh thy house, O Lord, unto length of days.

Romans 15:1-13

1 Now, we that are stronger ought to bear the infirmities of the weak and not to please ourselves.

2 Let every one of you Please his neighbour unto good, to edification.

3 For Christ did not please himself: but, as it is written: The reproaches of them that reproached thee fell upon me.

4 For what things soever were written were written for our learning: that, through patience and the comfort of the scriptures, we might have hope.

5 Now the God of patience and of comfort grant you to be of one mind, one towards another, according to Jesus Christ:

6 That with one mind and with one mouth you may glorify God and the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.

7 Wherefore, receive one another, as Christ also hath received you, unto the honour of God.

8 For I say that Christ Jesus was minister of the circumcision for the truth of God, to confirm the promises made unto the fathers:

9 But that the Gentiles are to glorify God for his mercy, as it is written: Therefore will I confess to thee, O Lord, among the Gentiles and will sing to thy name.

10 And again he saith: rejoice ye Gentiles, with his people.

11 And again: praise the Lord, all ye Gentiles: and magnify him, all ye people.

12 And again, Isaias saith: There shall be a root of Jesse; and he that shall rise up to rule the Gentiles, in him the Gentiles shall hope.

13 Now the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing: that you may abound in hope and in the power of the Holy Ghost.
