Then cameoneandtoldthem,saying* , Behold , the menwhom ye putinprisonarestandingin the temple,andteaching the people.

Thenwent the captainwith the officers, and broughtthemwithout*violence:for they feared the people,lest they should have been stoned .

And when they had broughtthem, they set them before the council:and the high priestaskedthem,

Saying , Didnot we straitlycommandyou that ye shouldnotteachinthisname?and,behold , ye have filledJerusalem with yourdoctrine,andintend to bringthisman'sblooduponus.

ThenPeterand the other apostlesanswered and said , We ought to obeyGodratherthanmen.

The God of ourfathers raised upJesus,whomyeslew and hangedon a tree.

Him hath Godexalted with his right hand to be a Princeand a Saviour, for to giverepentance to Israel,andforgiveness of sins.

Andwearehiswitnesses of thesethings;and so is also the HolyGhost,whomGod hath given to them that obeyhim.

When they heard that, they were cut to the heart, and took counsel to slaythem.

Then stood there uponein the council, a Pharisee,namedGamaliel, a doctor of the law, had in reputation among all the people, and commanded to put the apostlesfortha little space;

Andsaiduntothem, Ye men of Israel, take heed to yourselveswhat ye intend to do as touchingthesemen.
