Ezequiel 30:9-19

9 En ese tiempo enviaré veloces mensajeros por barco
para aterrorizar a los tan confiados etíopes.
Un gran pánico se apoderará de ellos
el día de la indudable destrucción de Egipto.
¡Espérenlo!
¡Sin falta, llegará!

10 »”Esto dice el Señor
Soberano:
con el poder del rey Nabucodonosor
de Babilonia,
destruiré a las multitudes de Egipto.

11 Él y sus ejércitos —los más despiadados de todos—
serán enviados para destruir el país.
Harán guerra contra Egipto
hasta cubrir el suelo con egipcios masacrados.

12 Secaré el río Nilo
y venderé el país a hombres perversos.
Haré destruir la tierra de Egipto y todo lo que haya allí
por manos de extranjeros.
¡Yo, el Señor
, he hablado!

13 »”Esto dice el Señor
Soberano:
rompe en pedazos los ídolos
de Egipto
y las imágenes que están en Menfis.
Ya no quedarán gobernantes en Egipto;
el terror se apoderará del país.

14 Destruiré el sur de Egipto,
prenderé fuego a Zoán
y traeré juicio sobre Tebas.

15 Derramaré mi furia sobre Pelusio,
la fortaleza más fuerte de Egipto,
y pisotearé
a las multitudes de Tebas.

16 ¡Sí, le prenderé fuego a todo Egipto!
Pelusio se retorcerá de dolor;
Tebas será despedazada;
Menfis vivirá en constante terror.

17 Los jóvenes de Heliópolis y Bubastis
morirán en batalla,
y las mujeres
serán llevadas como esclavas.

18 Cuando yo quiebre el orgullo de la fuerza de Egipto,
también será un día oscuro para Tafnes
Una nube oscura cubrirá Tafnes,
y sus hijas serán llevadas cautivas.

19 Así traeré un gran castigo sobre Egipto
y los egipcios sabrán que yo soy el Señor

INTRODUCTION TO EZEKIEL 30

This chapter is a continuation of the prophecy against Egypt, both against the country and the king of it. It is introduced with expressions of lamentation, because of the destruction coming on, Eze 30:1-3, and not only Egypt, and the cities thereof, should be destroyed, but all her friends, associates, and allies; the Ethiopians, Lydians, Lybians, and others, Eze 30:4-9. Nebuchadnezzar and his army were to be the instruments of her ruin, Eze 30:10-12, particular cities are mentioned by name, which should suffer much, and become desolate, Eze 30:13-19 and then Pharaoh king of Egypt himself is threatened with broken arms, and his people to be scattered among the nations, Eze 30:20-23, and the king of Babylon is again mentioned, whose arms should be strengthened to do all this, Eze 30:24-26.
