Aftertwodayswas the feast of the passover,andof unleavened bread:and the chief priestsand the scribessoughthow they might takehimbycraft, and put him to death .

But they said , Noton the feast day, lest there be an uproar of the people.

Andbeing*inBethanyin the house of Simon the leper, as he sat at meat , there came a womanhaving an alabaster box of ointment of spikenardveryprecious;and she brake the box, and poured it onhishead.

And there weresome that had indignationwithinthemselves,andsaid , Why*wasthiswaste of the ointmentmade ?

Foritmight have been sold for more than three hundredpence,and have been given to the poor.And they murmured againsther.

AndJesussaid , Letheralone ; why trouble ye*her? she hath wrought a goodworkonme.

For ye have the poorwithyoualways,andwhensoever ye will ye maydothemgood:butme ye havenotalways.

She hath donewhatshe*could : she is come aforehand to anointmybodyto the burying.
