Proverbi 30:28-33

28 Il ramarro, che si aggrappa con le mani, Ed è ne’ palazzi dei re.

29 Queste tre cose hanno un bel passo; Anzi queste quattro hanno una bella andatura:

30 Il leone, la più forte delle bestie, Che non si volge indietro per tema di alcuno;

31 Il gallo compresso di fianchi, e il becco, E il re, appresso al quale niuno può levare il capo.

32 Se tu hai fatto qualche follia, innalzandoti; Ovvero, se hai divisato alcun male, mettiti la mano in su la bocca.

33 Perciocchè, come chi rimena il latte ne fa uscir del burro; E chi stringe il naso, ne fa uscir del sangue; Così ancora chi preme l’ira ne fa uscir contesa.

INTRODUCTION TO 1 KINGS 17

This chapter begins with a prophecy of Elijah, that there should be want of rain for some years to come, and he is directed to go first to the brook Cherith, where he should be fed by ravens, 1Ki 17:1-7, and afterwards he is sent to a widow at Zarephath, where he, she, and her son, were supported for a considerable time with a handful of meal, and a little oil in a cruse miraculously increased, 1Ki 17:8-16, whose son falling sick and dying, he restored to life, 1Ki 17:17-24.
