Proverbios 21:22-31

22 El sabio conquista la ciudad de los fuertes
y arrasa la fortaleza en que confían.

23 Cuida tu lengua y mantén la boca cerrada,
y no te meterás en problemas.

24 Los burlones son orgullosos y altaneros;
actúan con una arrogancia que no tiene límites.

25 Por mucho que desee, el perezoso acabará en la ruina,
porque sus manos se niegan a trabajar.

26 Hay quienes se la pasan codiciando todo el tiempo,
¡pero a los justos les encanta dar!

27 El sacrificio del malvado es detestable,
sobre todo cuando lo ofrece con malas intenciones.

28 El testigo falso será silenciado,
pero al testigo creíble se le permitirá hablar.

29 El perverso finge para salir del apuro,
pero el honrado piensa antes de actuar.

30 No hay sabiduría humana ni entendimiento ni proyecto
que puedan hacerle frente al Señor
.

31 El caballo se prepara para el día de la batalla,
pero la victoria pertenece al Señor
.

INTRODUCTION TO 1 KINGS 9

This chapter relates a second vision Solomon had at Gibeon, in which he received an answer to his prayer in the preceding chapter, 1Ki 9:1-9 that passed between him and Hiram king of Tyre, 1Ki 9:10-14, the places that Solomon built or repaired, 1Ki 9:15-19, the Canaanitish people that became bondmen to him, and the officers he had among the children of Israel, 1Ki 9:20-23 the removal of Pharaoh's daughter to the house built for her, 1Ki 9:24. Solomon's attention to religious services, 1Ki 9:25 and the navy of ships he employed, which brought him in great riches, 1Ki 9:26-28.
