Psalms 24:2-10

2 He laid its foundation on the seas and set it firmly on the rivers.
3 Who may go up the LORD's mountain? Who may stand in his holy place?
4 [The one who] has clean hands and a pure heart and does not long for what is false or lie when he is under oath.
5 [This person] will receive a blessing from the LORD and righteousness from God, his savior.
6 This is the person who seeks him, who searches for the face of the God of Jacob. Selah
7 Lift your heads, you gates. Be lifted, you ancient doors, so that the king of glory may come in.
8 Who is this king of glory? The LORD, strong and mighty! The LORD, heroic in battle!
9 Lift your heads, you gates. Be lifted, you ancient doors, so that the king of glory may come in.
10 Who, then, is this king of glory? The LORD of Armies is the king of glory! Selah

Psalms 24:2-10 Meaning and Commentary

INTRODUCTION TO PSALM 24

\\<>\\. This psalm is thought by some of the Jewish writers {d} to have been wrote when the ark was brought from the house of Obededom to the city of David, and put into the place prepared for it by him, 2Sa 6:17; to which reference is supposed to be had in Ps 24:7-10; or after that David had built an altar in the threshing floor of Araunah the Jebusite, and had knowledge of the hill Moriah, as the place where the sanctuary was to be built; called the hill of the Lord, and his holy place, Ps 24:3; however, it was certainly written by David, under the inspiration of the spirit of God; and is a prophecy of Christ, and of the Gospel church, and describes the members of it. {d} Aben Ezra & Kimchi.
