2 Chantez, chantez en son honneur! Parlez de toutes ses merveilles!

3 Glorifiez-vous de son saint nom! Que le coeur de ceux qui cherchent l'Eternel se réjouisse!

4 Ayez recours à l'Eternel et à son appui, Cherchez continuellement sa face!

5 Souvenez-vous des prodiges qu'il a faits, De ses miracles et des jugements de sa bouche,

6 Postérité d'Abraham, son serviteur, Enfants de Jacob, ses élus!

7 L'Eternel est notre Dieu; Ses jugements s'exercent sur toute la terre.

8 Il se rappelle à toujours son alliance, Ses promesses pour mille générations,

9 L'alliance qu'il a traitée avec Abraham, Et le serment qu'il a fait à Isaac;

10 Il l'a érigée pour Jacob en loi, Pour Israël en alliance éternelle,

11 Disant: Je te donnerai le pays de Canaan Comme héritage qui vous est échu.

12 Ils étaient alors peu nombreux, Très peu nombreux, et étrangers dans le pays,

Psaume 105:2-12 Meaning and Commentary

INTRODUCTION TO PSALM 105

This psalm was penned by David, and sung at the time when the ark was brought from the house of Obededom to the place which David had prepared for it; at least the first fifteen verses of it, the other part being probably added afterwards by the same inspired penman, as appears from 1Ch 16:1-7. The subject matter of the psalm is the special and distinguishing goodness of God to the children of Israel, and to his church and people, of which they were typical: the history of God's regard to and care of their principal ancestors, Abraham, Jacob, Joseph and of the whole body of the people, in bringing them out of Egypt, leading them through the wilderness, and settling them in the land of Canaan, is here recited, as an argument for praise and thankfulness.
