Each one should use whatever gift he has received to serve others,1 faithfully2 administering God's grace in its various forms.
If anyone speaks, he should do it as one speaking the very words of God.3 If anyone serves, he should do it with the strength God provides,4 so that in all things God may be praised5 through Jesus Christ. To him be the glory and the power for ever and ever. Amen.6
Dear friends, do not be surprised at the painful trial you are suffering,7 as though something strange were happening to you.
But rejoice8 that you participate in the sufferings of Christ,9 so that you may be overjoyed when his glory is revealed.1014
If you are insulted because of the name of Christ,11 you are blessed,12 for the Spirit of glory and of God rests on you.
If you suffer, it should not be as a murderer or thief or any other kind of criminal, or even as a meddler.
However, if you suffer as a Christian, do not be ashamed, but praise God that you bear that name.1317
For it is time for judgment to begin with the family of God;14 and if it begins with us, what will the outcome be for those who do not obey the gospel of God?1518
And, "If it is hard for the righteous to be saved, what will become of the ungodly and the sinner?"a1619
So then, those who suffer according to God's will17 should commit themselves to their faithful Creator and continue to do good.
