11When the Sabbath was over, 2MaryMagdalene, and Mary the mother of James, and Salome, 3boughtspices, so that they might come and anoint Him.

Veryearly on the first day of the week, they came to the tomb when the sun had risen.

They were saying to oneanother, "Who will rollaway4the stone for us from the entrance of the tomb?"

Looking up, they saw that the stone had been rolledaway, although it was extremelylarge.

5Entering the tomb, they saw a youngmansitting at the right, wearing a whiterobe; and they 6were amazed.

And he said to them, "7Do not be amazed; you are looking for Jesus the 8Nazarene, who has been crucified. 9He has risen; He is not here; behold, here is the placewhere they laid Him.

"But go, tell His disciples and Peter, '10He is goingahead of you to Galilee; there you will see Him, just as He told you.' "

They went out and fled from the tomb, for trembling and astonishment had gripped them; and they saidnothing to anyone, for they were afraid.

[Now after He had risenearly on the first day of the week, He firstappeared to 11MaryMagdalene, from whom He had cast out sevendemons.

12She went and reported to those who had been with Him, while they were mourning and weeping.

When they heard that He was alive and had been seen by her, 13they refused to believe it.

After that, 14He appeared in a differentform15to two of them while they were walking along on their way to the country.

They wentaway and reported it to the others, but they 16did not believe them either.
